I'm trying to decide whether to change my lamb QDR order to calf. I know the lamb vs. calf debate is personal for some people, but I was wondering if some of you who already have TOJ jackets could chime in. Basically, I want something that drapes well and lasts as long as possible without looking veiny and wrinkled like some of the lamb pics I've seen. At the same time, one of my first leathers was a Schott Perfecto in calf and it was cardboard stiff and had no drape whatsoever. How does the leather TOJ stack up? Also, can any of you identify the leather type in these pics from the TOJ gallery? (Some of you might have even posted them.) I like their look. I believe they are all calf, but I might be wrong. Thanks!

@theamericanist  pretty sure the one on the carpet is the only calf jacket there.

The owner of TOJ has said quilting works best with lamb.

I believe 4th is calf, the rest are lamb.
I'd personally stick with lamb, particularly if you are getting a quilted jacket. I thinking quilted in calf tends to be even more stiff.

I used to own the 4th one, its calf and stiff as a cardboard. If you want drape go with lamb, the veiny/wrinkled look adds character.

calf will drape, though, eventually

just a matter of how much time and wear you're willing to invest in order to break it in well

Anyone got a response from Charly as to when next shipment is going out?

I sent Charly an email Sunday evening and still haven't heard anything. Was not regarding shipping.

Hey drew, could you please give us an update on how the Bags and wallets are coming along?

Thanks

I have a calf MDR. Calf is REALLY tough, I'm still trying to break mine in.

Has anyone ever done a video review or any kind of filming of a ToJ piece? Could be a great way to show the difference for Calf vs Lamb?

Yeah, we really need an amateur film-maker to create a video about stuff he doesn't really know or understand.
