Been looking for a nautical sweater like that. w2c? I also got my gf a BCDR (non quilted). Should be coming soon... (ordered July 19)

Considering the wait time, ordering a toj for your SO says more about your commitment than an engagement ring these days.

Just acquired a suede T1 - can I just hit it with Saphir suede protector?

What color?

Its a medium brown. Assume it would be a few shades darker after treatment.

Super soft suede. Nappa-like in texture.

Reason I ask is that I'm about to place an order for a T-1. On the fence between steel blue and "chestnut" which sounds similar to your medium brown. If you have a chance in the next day or two, would you be able to take a pic of your jacket and post it here? I couldn't find any images of either leather color online.

Sorry I don't have advice on treating the suede, but I'm sure someone else knows.

I'm going to guess that the first and light blue jacket is what you are looking for, steel blue and chestnut:

For heavy calf suede photoshop colors:

Hi guys, I was thinking of ordering a 2011 Moto (I'm fine with the wait), and was wondering if there's any resource that explains the pros and cons of some of the leathers? I saw the guide to the colors, which speaks briefly about the properties of some of them, but I'm sure you guys know more.

It'll be my first, and probably only, leather jacket, and I was leaning toward a medium brown; but might be convinced otherwise if there was a compelling reason. Should I go with calf, horse, lamb? I don't want something too fragile that I have to worry about it all the time, but I also won't be riding in it so it doesn't have to be the toughest thing ever.

^This has been discussed before, you gotta read back in the thread about the differences between the leathers or search through it. I'm sure within the last 50 pages it's been quoted somewhere.

Found it in the archive of the john coppidge tumblr, took like 2 minutes
Sorry for making you click the link:

Thanks, but that first jacket is muted sky blue, a suede not offered anymore. I'm looking for steel blue. The second jacket is a photoshop. Those swatches posted on the tumblr are so tiny.

I know it's annoying when people clog up the thread with questions that could be answered with a bit of searching, but I really have combed over it thoroughly as well as through toj-gallery and Google images, and there are no pictures of jackets in these leathers.

Hey alhanis, you sound like me when I was making my first and only toj purchase. As someone else mentioned, this topic has been discussed many times in the past. Regardless, I have owned a calf 2011 moto for close to a year now and I feel I can contribute to the growing archived discussion.

I've always felt that lamb attracted people that craved instant gratification as it looks great right out of the box. Lamb is per se for the guy who chooses to fly across country instead of taking the train, where saving time is valued above experience. Calf on the other hand is a labor of love as it comes out of the box like a homosexual coming out in a family of bodybuilders. Hesitant maybe even self-conscious that it was not gifted with the same valued attributes that the lamb initially has. But let me tell you alhanis, when choosing calf, you are choosing the fact that the journey is the destination. While foregoing the initial pleasure of day one wearability you are adopting a choice that will surely pay dividends in the future. You see, I don't understand why men insist on 2001 vintage wines and 18 year old whiskey but then demand an ageless jacket. But talking aside, below are just two quick pictures at how my simple calf has morphed over the time I've been with it.

Growing texture along the spine:

Jacket has changed from stiff to pliable:

As an aside, this post is not to bash lamb, only to support the fact that calf does not get the attention it deserves.

You are right about the light blue being the muted sky blue. I haven't found anything either as I kept searching. I think if you emailed them it wouldn't hurt because it does seem like there are no photos of it. Maybe there aren't any steel blue jackets or someone who has it, hasn't posted a pic of it yet.

Nothing to see there, just casual homophobia.
