I don't think taking it to the public forums while the issue is ongoing is going to serve you any better.

I've personally have had two issues with TOJ over the years, but you'll never hear about it because I dealt with them directly.

My first jacket I ever bought, the ribbed collar was too short and sat awkwardly. I sent it back to TOJ and they fixed it for me.

The 2nd issue, they sent me a Black/White varsity instead of Black/Black. Again, I dealt with TOJ directly and had it resolved.

It really sucks that you got the wrong jacket twice, I really do understand.

But to your point, there are places like Supreme which is notorious for crappy customer service but people line up hours around the block buying their clothes because it's well designed and is nice quality. So I don't completely agree with your whole restaurant analogy and rating system.

This is not a traditional business model and with the prices I'm paying for these jackets, I accept that as part of the value proposition.

Literally the only thing that I've seen come close to this quality of jacket is Saint Laurent's perfecto jacket which is $5500. I'm paying a fraction of that price for equal and superior quality.

Even though you've had a crappy experience thus far, the vast majority of people did not end up with a defective widget.

First off, I'd like to make it clear that in no way am I going to try and milk this situation. The only reason why I decided that perhaps posting it in this thread with my experience is simply as information provided as I mentioned before. You can call this a dick move or whatever, but I legitimately think this is important information. If ToJ tells me to remove my posts, sure - I'll do it. But I'm sure they trust their product enough.

I also did not make the point about restaurants, but I also agree with that sentiment.

Regardless of the situation, the product that ToJ provides is of absolutely high quality. I have a feeling that I am likely to order a ToJ0 of myself after I have received the DR.

I have a feeling this was an elaborate marketing ploy masterminded by charly

Send wrong jacket on purpose, customer sees how good it is, immediately places another order

Can't stop looking at this jacket. I'm starting to like their suede jackets more and more as I browse through the gallery. Does anyone know if this is Drew's or someone else's jacket? And is the color sand suede or tan suede?
Really like cyc wid it's Harrington as well

It feels like our orders are just being pushed out without inspection, leading to wrong sizing and even wrong jackets.

I understand that ToJ isn't a typical business, but even a non-typical business should respond as to how such a situation could have happened.

I am waiting to hear back from them.

It took 34 weeks to the day, but I received my A-2 on Friday. Fit pics to come, but a few initial thoughts:

-- I expected it to arrive in a bag (based on other peoples' comments), but it came in a box. The box was disconcertingly tiny. I feared I'd screwed up on my measurements so much that they'd sent a child's size.

-- Inside the box, there was a TOJ tote bag, and the jacket was below that. The jacket came zipped and folded, gently, in half.

-- I'm pleased with the fit; the armholes are ever so slightly more fitted than I would have liked, but I'm not worried about it. It's leather, and it'll stretch. I'm also about five to seven pounds heavier now than when I ordered, weight I'm in the process of shedding.

-- It's a beautiful jacket, the leather feels like butter, and it was definitely worth the wait.

-- Thanks for putting up with my complaints.

despite all the bickering, i'm glad you got your jacket and that you enjoy it. post some pics when you get the chance.

so I mentioned to charly that I wanted my jackets to accommodate for 10 lbs. of potential weight gain

would asking for another 5 lbs. (15 total) change up the measurements all that much?

I don't want to end up asking for more weight accommodation than I can fill

but at the same time at 5'8, 125 lbs. (hate eating and have a fast metabolism) maybe it'd be a good thing to try to gain more weight?
