Ari's oxblood calf is why I went with an oxblood calf QDR. Wanted something unique, that likely no one else would have.

In New York for the weekend for NYFW

Jacket is starting to break in nicely. Been touching the SLP DR and it's pretty damn nice. Really makes me want to get the new DR.

Everything else though is crap compared to TOJ. Margiela, LV, McQueen, all their leather is garbage. Only one that sorta comes close is SLP.

On a related note, bumped into Lenny Kravitz yday at SLP in SoHo, he signed my shoebox lol

Great stuff! What material is that jacket made from?

Yeah, I love SLP leathers and it's nice that the new DR is very similar to theirs.

I have a black lamb/silver zip CWU, black lamb/silver 4 zip MDR, and black suiting wool MA-1, all of which I love. Would it be a little redundant or excessive to get a black/silver zip DR2013? If not, which material? I like the idea of calf for a change (although the lamb is really great), but I'm a little apprehensive about the stiffness and breaking it in. Any thoughts welcome

Well, I don't have my jackets yet so I don't know if I can comment... but I don't think there's anything excessive or redundant about getting a black calf DR2013. I think your other jackets are more conservative and the DR2013 is a bit bolder and since you don't have calf, it might be a good change. I wouldn't worry about breaking it in, I love the look of it and I'm sure once you get it you'll wear it enough to the point where it will eventually. Heck, I got to break in two calf jackets and I don't care. They just look awesome that's all that matters to me. I'll wear it when I'm sleeping if I have to.

It isn't that stiff and only takes a few wears to break in to a comfortable level.

I'm about to order my first (and last) TOJ, the minimalist rider.
Can't make up my mind between Medium Grey and Oxblood, what would you recommend?

IMO oxblood would look much better than grey.

Oxblood for sure.

Go calf. I figure if I were to get another jacket, it would be black calf...doooo it.

If you're going for a 2013 dr, definitely get it in calf.
