Eh? I don't see how material would affect the fit, your measurements relative to the jacket measurements affect the fit.

To your point, lamb tends to drape better since it's softer and molds better to your body than goat would.

really? do you own any lamb jackets? you havent noticed how the shoulders bunch up due to the way the jacket is constructed? i imagine the goat to be thinner, more rough and heavier so it looks like it lays flatter on the shoulders.

Not sure if goat is thinner, it might be, but it's definitely lighter than lamb.

it's really lighter? thats crazy, idk why i always assumed it was just as heavy as calf.

I find the calf molds better, but then again, my lambskin is newer than my calf. I don't find that either bunch up on my shoulders though.

My lamb shoulders don't bunch up like you're saying.

I've had lamb and goat TOJ jackets and I find the goat to drape very well + no bunching up on the shoulders. My GF's black lamb DR doesn't bunch up either but my 2010 bomber did slightly, didn't bother me though, I always thought that it had to do more with the shape of my shoulder than anything else.

btw, the more I've wore my dark brown goat MDR the more I've grown to like the goat leather. Performs well, even in light rain, feels very soft. Hard to explain, but it also has a somewhat more "substantial" look/feel to it compared to lamb, especially if the lamb is thin (which is sometimes the case even with TOJ's black lamb). I have still two lamb orders that I'm waiting and if it wasn't already this late in my order (ordered late june) I'd probably change my A-2 order from brown lamb to brown glazed goat.

there's probably a better example within the galley, but this is what i mean by the shoulders bunching. it's almost like the lining folds up on itself so the edges of the shoulders kind of protrude a bit. it can honestly be because the sizing is off in the shoulders, but i find my calf jacket to be a bit more forgiving of things like this.

*ahem* yup, the brown goat MDR is indeed a thing of beauty.

I love how every single TOJ I see in the marketplace near my size is just slightly off for me.

The sleeves will be an inch or more too short, or the shoulders will be half an inch too narrow, or the length too long or something.

That's a bad example because Drew mentioned something regarding that the collared moto sample was made a bit too small, even for him. So that could explain some of the shoulder protrusion.

In my entire time here I have seen two TOJs on B&S which are even close, a brown suede A1 and a navy QMDR. Probably would have jumped on the latter if the chest was half an inch more forgiving
