The new official TOJ thread, 2011 - Page 2371

So I just got my jacket a few weeks ago, I was expecting my Steel Grey BCDR since that was ordered first. But given the production cycle I ended up with the Black lamb MDR which I'm still very happy with. Nothing like getting packages and not knowing which jacket it is. 3 more to go icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

The sizing of the jacket is exactly what I wanted. I had told Charly I wanted to gain about 10 lbs. of lean muscle and have a jacket that fits good right now and eventually perfect. I think that's exactly what I got and layering is much more comfortable. With my Brown Lamb A-2 the jacket fits so dead on that even a dress shirt and driving with the jacket may be a bit stiff.

I find the jacket pretty versatile, I can wear it to work and also just a plain white tee and looks pretty awesome. I had hesitations before about this style of jacket and whether or not I can pull it off. I'm glad I didn't go any longer on the jacket than Charly suggested, I didn't want an extreme cropped look.

edit: I'm about 5'9 and currently 148 lbs. I plan to be around 160 lbs around.

I'm also waiting for my CWU-45. Ordered June 14th.

I'm really trying not to bring myself to order one ... but they really seem to nail the fit and aesthetics almost perfectly every time.

That said, do you feel like the sleeves are slightly long?

When it's your 7th and 8th Tojs that you're waiting for, you don't worry as much about it, and just wait for the email. I just have a mental note as to when I should be expecting it, and that's that.

It also helps that med school is incredibly time consuming... And that I just got my wool MA-1 a month ago.

edit: that reminds me, I need to change Miss the Fish's 2010 GFDR lining to bemberg. Forgot to do that when I switched my jacket from a QDR to a BCDR.

I think the sleeves are fine. When I zip up the sleeve opening, it fits nice and snug. Right now I sized the opening to hit just before my knuckles.

I'm going to be gaining more mass around the shoulders and traps that I think it will eventually land a bit past my wrist.

My A-2 Bomber ends right at the wrist and I don't like the feeling of the jacket riding up when I'm driving with the jacket on.

I just don't get this tone. The guy came into the thread very respectful, tried to do his HW, and gets put on blast anyway. No one here is an SA, so there's no obligation, but on the margin people afraid to ask "stupid questions" in the only thread that exists for it WILL affect Drew's business...

Like I said, you're under no obligation to act like the nice Crosby's SAs I ask a couple of dumb questions to every time I pick up my groceries.  But all it takes is a little bit of charitable leeway on everyone's part so that ToJ can sell a couple of more nice leathers to the slightly ignorant.

EDIT: Not willing to argue about it.  I myself might be wrong, who knows.  Won't post anymore on it.

Finally got my A-2 in my hands! A couple of phone shots from the first try on. Very happy that I persisted with making it a bit roomier, especially in the upper arm. The lamb is thicker than I expected, and there's a nice sort of micro-graininess to it when you look at it up close. I've lost the charger for my proper camera but I'll be sure to get some better pics when I have that working.

Anyway, it's a fantastic jacket, and I love it to bits already. Thanks to Drew and Charly and everyone involved!

Wow there are more people waiting for CWU than I thought. How many of you have already procured rubber bands and are going to mold the collar per Drew's rec?

Hang it zipped up, collar closed that way overnight or for a couple nights, refresh as necessary -It will keep the collar held in the middle with that reverse roll.

Hang it on collar zipped up when not in use; if you want to, use a rubber band of the right size to kind of hold the roll of the collar in place, around the middle of the collar's height. It should roll from the top of the collar to the tip like a flipped out woman's hairdo.
