Anyone have experience altering/tailoring a leather ToJ piece? I lost weight and wanna take in the p2p and sides by an inch or so, and also shorten the jacket by 1-2 inches (I ordered it a bit too long )

Hi guys,

Here are my measurements:
1. Shoulders - 15"
2. Chest - 38 1/4"
3. Midsection - 32 3/4"
4. Waist - 32 3/4"
5. Front Length - 18 3/4"
6. Sleeve length - 24"
7. Bicep - 15"

And here are the measurements that Charly suggested:

shoulders 16.0"
chest (pit-to-pit) 21.0"
midsection 18.7"
waist 18.2"
body length, front 20.5"
body length, back 22.7"
sleeve length, from shoulder 23.7"
sleeve width @ pit 7.5"
sleeve width @ elbow 6.5"
sleeve width @ cuff 5.5"

I'm looking for a slim fit, do you guys think these suggested measurements work?

Thanks guys.

What's your height/weight?

Just tried to upgrade the lining to bemberg (hadn't known it was still an option after the no-customizations cutoff) but can't because the jacket is already being made. That's really unfortuna I'm just gonna sit by the mailbox and wait for the sweet smell of leather, mmkay?

You can see that it's kind of formulaic, depending on the measurement a certain amount is added... If your certain of your own measurements, then just go with it. The lads have made 1000's of jackets at this stage, they know what they're doing...

CPODonnell, what's the bets on us being the only two Irish TOJ customers?

This is true. But with this being made to order and overseas and high priced, I want mine to be as perfect as possible, even if that means me being more attentive to detail than usual

What type of jacket did you purchase?

You are 2" taller than me but your body length front/back are shorter?

No doubt, I was surprised to even see you when I was trawling through old posts yesterday.. I guess my last name and saying "lads" gave it away did it..

He probably purchased a moto or rider. Bombers have longer body lengths due to the ribbing.

I ordered the moto, I think the standard measurements are for a skinny guy, mine seem to be a touch larger than a standard 44 except for the sleeves which are shorter, which makes sense to me because my arms are a bit short. Your measurements might appear strange because your much more muscular than the standard sizes were drawn up for.

I understand you want everything perfect, I literally tortured Charly with emails yesterday changing this measurement and that measurement. That's why I was saying "if your sure of your own measurements" because I wasn't. I would be more worried about an error on your end than Charly's... so quadruple check those measurements and if you feel there right, don't worry about it. Charly's a pro.

Thanks bro. I appreciate all the help for a TOJ newb so far.

Just to add to what's being said: I ordered mid June and added excella zips and bemberg to one of my orders beginning of July.  Come September I was refunded my excella zips.

For those on the fence on whether or not to upgrade to bemberg, GET IT.

It's noticeably that much nicer looking.  Really wish I got it on my navy MDR as well.
