On black lamb, it's really your own preference.  gunmetal and black existed for a long time before silver/gold were introduced.

However, I do think that silver looks especially nice on anything colored.

Can anyone compare the weight and warmth of the toj1 2011 and the suiting wool ma-1? Temperature wise, would you say that the toj1 is more for spring and the ma-1 more for fall weather?

Anyone received tracking for their bomber recently? I ordered a CWU on the 14th of April (15 weeks ago), trying to guess how long of a wait I have left.

Still on the bench, thinking of how this jacket would work with my wardrobe. The gallery has a few pics, but not enough for me to tell.

Edit: Also it doesn't help that every pic has someone wearing the MA-1 with all black clothes/shoes, or monochrome. Is that all it's good for? (Not trying to sound negative, but it feels like that to me)

I'm in the same boat, except I've already ordered the MA-1. I don't think I can work it in so I'm going to see if I can switch to a TOJ0.

Lambskin or goatskin

Recommend?

It's going to be subjective. Black lamb is TOJ's best piece of leather.

I personally like buttery soft lamb, but you do need to be a careful person. If you have a tendency of getting drunk and bumping into things, then goat is probably a better route for you.

If you're someone who cares about your clothes and takes good care of them, then go with lamb.

I personally don't like the pebbled texture of goat, but some people like that.

I've been able to compare most of the leathers and I prefer black lamb by far

photos don't capture any of them all that well

Taking my own measurements for a 3-Zip MDR, how long do you guys recommend the sleeve length should be, as in should I measure from edge of shoulder to wrist where watch would be or slightly higher than watch?

Also, do you guys feel that taking actual body measurements or measuring a fitted jacket is a better way to go?

^ I think body measurements are the best way.  Doesn't hurt to have both tho.

I heard lambskin will show its age quickly?

When you're going with sleeve length and body length, I recommend using both as a guideline.

Submit your body measurement to Charly of course. See what he recommends based on those measurements.

I would take look at jackets and hoodies that I like in terms of body length and sleeve length. I then cross reference based on his measurements and see if they make sense for me.

For example, there are certain styles of jacket where the user would want a bit more stacking. Then add a few inches to the sleeve to create that effect.

Some people like their jackets a bit more cropped, then subtract a little bit from the recommendation.

I don't think you should submit clothing measurements, but it's great to use as a reference.
