Personally I'd go with a leather MA-1 because it's a simple clean design, and just seems a lot more versatile.

No brainer, MDR. Possibly the most iconic toj of the previous generation of designs.

Saying the rider jackets are not versatile is nonsense.

The mdr is a beautiful jacket that looks really cool, but that doesn't mean it will look good on as many people, type of shirts, and types of body shapes; again, personal preference. The leather MA-1 is simple and there isn't as much going on which is why you can wear it with so many things. Like a T-shirt, you can dress it up or down, a henley? not so much. In the end, it's his choice of what he feels most comfortable with, I'm just giving a recommendation.

CWU is better than the MA-1 anyways

What do you guys like better about the CWU than MA-1? Personally I prefer the simple MA-1 pockets.

CWU is a classic style that will never look dated or out of style. It is also more versatile. Other than that it is personal preference.

Perhaps a better question (for me)

black lamb with silver zips:

Moto 4 zip or MDR

I'm currently having made a DR in tan calf.  Have always wanted a moto in lamb, but I'm wondering if the MDR would suit my body better.  (6'3" 170lbs)

^ if you are already getting a DR and you always wanted a moto in lamb...

...go for the moto 4 zip

Well considering you already ordered a DR in tan calf (I would've preferred you went black), having an MDR in black lamb just seems slightly redundant. If it were possible I'd modify your DR order to black and get a 4-zip Moto.
