I'm personally not a huge fan of the wool suiting material on MA-1, I think most go that route due to the lower price point.

But if you can do it, go big.

Looking over the gallery is this the only guy to order a MDR with black/low key zips?

Might be taking a leap here but seems to give it a bit more of an understanded style that might go better with collared shirts/slightly more formal than the silver?  Of course starting at TOJ pics for a while now, could just be imagining things.

There's quite a few blacked out MDR's in the gallery.

I think regardless of zips, all the MDR's go well with a button up.

Straight from the man himself.

Pretty much all ToJ jackets go well with a button up.

I believe that's the ADR. I was interested in it too a while back but it's been discontinued. No button snaps on lapels and scalloped hem. I personally really like the design.

^correct although there are snaps (on mine anyway) just hidden.

As we get closer to the deadline, I think I will go with TOJ0 (Black/Black) and CWU-45 (Black Lamb).

I know some members have 4-5 black jackets, and that is fine, but I feel that two jackets need to be different enough, and have a different purpose in order for me to justify owning them.

That said, would the TOJ0 and CWU-45 overlap a bit? Having not owned any leather sleeved varsities before, I'm speculating that the TOJ0 is more like a lightweight jacket while the CWU-45 should be warmer. Also the two styles differ enough that I can alternate between the two even though they are both black. Thoughts?

I'd suggest a DR if that's your style.

^Ah, I forgot to mention that I already have a black calf Rick Owens asymmetrical-zip riders jacket, so a DR/MDR might be too much of an overlap

Kaura they are two different styles that has a different aesthetic so I think you're fine with two black jackets.

Although if you want a different colour, have you considered Brown Lamb A-2 Bomber instead of the CWU-45?

Interesting wasn't aware of this, thanks for the info.

I highly suggest someone get a black calf suede MDR with gold zips.

WILL NOT REGRET.

The BCDR in that make would look better IMO
