It's nice but I can't get a decent photograph of the hue, and it doesn't bother me if I don't make any blue jackets anyway, I think everybody should start with black leather as step one, particularly the black lamb.

1. Whisky (any of the three, but probably the light or medium) calfskin 2011 Moto - 4 zip front

I really feel that a 4-zip Moto in the Medium whisky calf could reach that kind of level if somebody got one and broke it in properly, that's really not stretching it. It's just that it's a combo of the right jacket and the time and wear on the part of the right person.

Somehow, as a piece, it's pretty far evolved from the very first original Moto sample (which aeglus eventually bought and wore) and yet at the same time, it's not - back to the black lamb 4-zip Moto with silver zippers formula.

- black lamb 4-zip MDR with silver zips
- maybe a diesel blue or Sherwood heavy calf suede channel-quilted BCDR (like willy's)
- Sand lamb channel-quilt BCDR
- 2010 DR in black lamb with gold hardware and zips
- 4-zip moto in one of the horsehides
- Synthese's dark taupe lamb suede T-1
- another black lamb CWU-45, with collar

And that is why I am excited for my 4 zip moto with silver zips which I just got tracking for

Will the silver zips dull down at all with age? I'm already seriously considering getting a 4-zip moto even though I just ordered a MDR (my first). Seems like it's now or never...

I like the minimalist look of the moto, and was considering gunmetal because it doesn't stand out so much (goes with the minimalist look)...after the last two posts I'm back to square one on the zips dilemma.

Then again, I was originally thinking of a 2-zip gunmetal, so what do I know :P

I'm trusting Charly but just in case:)

I'm 5'7 and 179lb

Getting both, BCDR in black lamb and A2 in brown dark goat.

BCDR:

shoulders 17.5"

midsection 19.3"
waist 19.7"
body length, front 21.0"
body length, back 23.0"
sleeve length, from shoulder 24"
sleeve width @ pit 7.6"
sleeve width @ elbow 6.5"
sleeve width @ cuff 5.1"

A2:

chest (pit-to-pit) 21.7"
midsection 20.2"
waist 19.7"
body length, front 22.0"
body length, back 24.2"
sleeve length, from shoulder 26"
sleeve width @ pit 7.6"
sleeve width @ elbow 6.7"
sleeve width @ cuff 5.7

actual body measurements:

1 - Shoulders - 45.7cm/18in

2 - Pit to Pit - 103cm/40.5in

3 - Mid section - 89cm/35

4 - Waist - 92cm/36.2

5 - Front length - 52cm/20.4

I like the following fits:

If anyone has similar measurements I appreciate some fit wisdom.

thanks

Wait, your body measurements for shoulders are 1.3 larger than the jacket? Is that right? We're similar, except I'm a bit longer than you. The change between the BCDR and the A2, is what Charly did for me with my CWU and BCDR.

I went 2-zip gunmetal moto for the reasons you mentioned....don't get talked into something you won't feel comfortable wearing.

Deciding between a moto, MDR, and leather MA-1. (Black lamb/silver zips)

It's really difficult. frown.gif

You got it, Charly suggested that's the right size. I hope it works. i just edited my original post. My shoulder measures 18in but the jacket shoulder is still half inch less.

What's your shoulders measurements vs jacket?

thanks

16.75 Shoulder measurement, 17 inch shoulder on BCDR order. Uh oh..

Shoulder: 16.75

Chest: 36.5

Mid Section: 31

Waist: 32.25

Front:21

Biceps: 12.75

--

Charly's advice:

shoulders 17.0"
chest (pit-to-pit) 20.0"
midsection 18.2"
waist 18.6"
body length, front 21.2"
body length, back 23.3"
sleeve length, from shoulder 22.5"
sleeve width @ pit 6.9"
sleeve width @ elbow 6.3"
sleeve width @ cuff 5"

I am not the expert -- Charly is.

Truth is shoulders are hard to measure, based on his other measurements its unlikely he is 5'7" with 19" shoulders...charly likely took that into account
post #31979 of 41419

Just sent my measurements in along with my payment for 2013 dr, when would I get a confirmation? Not rushing anything, just wondering since I might not be in the country for the next couple of days.

payment confirmation? There should've been a Paypal message that said - paid to Drew Keith - you're in, once your payment is in and clears.
