Yea, the lamb (black or brown, all that I've handled) is thick and substantial.  The calf isn't really much thicker (if it is at all), it's that it's much denser and stiffer, which results in a heavier jacket that needs to be broken in, but will pretty much withstand whatever you throw at it.

Just send my measurements for my 4-Zip MDR, Insanity Blue.

It's a shame, in a way, because I really, really, want a black lamb toj as well. But I guess I'll have to hope that I can grab something from the B/S in the coming months.

The thickness of the Toj lamb, from my experience, has been very inconsistent. I've handled three black lamb MDRs and one jacket is very thin and the other two are thick and substantial. The difference is very noticeable, and same goes for the three A2 bomber in brown lamb that I've handled. My A2 is much more heavier and thicker than another one I've felt, and at first I thought mine might've been a different leather because the difference that far apart.

That's scary. I hope my new jacket is nice and thick.

Hey cheers for the heads up.

I bought a calf moto and while it looks ridiculously awesome on, it's also a lot bulkier than the non-tojs I see other people wearing and was faintly wondering if I should have gone the lamb for that reason alone. Glad to hear it wouldn't have made a difference.

My ma-1 is noticeably thinner than my dr but it's appropriate for the style so it was a welcome surprise

i can attest to this - i have two black lamb jackets and the leather on one is noticeably more substantial than the other

I guess it's random, which works out sometimes. The thickness of the leather also varied a lot throughout my jacket. My right sleeve is thicker than the left in my MDR but I've gotten used to it.

Is this thickness inconsistency thing also true of the TOJ goat? Just curious.

Now that you guys mention it, my MDR is significantly thinner than my moto. I do remember trying on my moto for the first time thinking it was a lot heavier than the MDR and thicker too, and I just thought it was because my MDR was broke in, and the moto was just brand new... nothing really to complain about though.

I hope your jacket turns out to be nice, long (not too short), thick and black.
