I think this because when you add the shearling/ribbing, it really makes the combo shine. Since the dark brown goat is so close to black, the more medium brown shearling and ribbing tone it back to clearly dark brown.

Yeah, I'm kinda leaning towards getting it in lamb to be safe now after looking through all of the pictures. That would mean I'd have a black lamb CWU and a brown lamb A-2, and no idea what to get for a third..

With two lamb bombers, what jacket would you guys recommend for a last one? I'd like something in on of the more durable leathers and without ribbing. Color wise something around the medium/dark whiskey or brown area. I'm looking for something to just throw on together with a white tee and a pair of well worn jeans going grocery shopping kind of thing, something laid back. What would you guys recommend?

just sent payment for a TOJ0

TOJ trifecta will be complete:

- brown calf bomber 2010
- black lamb 4 zip MDR
- navy/sand tan TOJ0 2013

is the superfuture TOJ thread now non-existent?

ToJ has such a unique market niche cornered in the way the advertise/gain support, peddle an ultra high quality product at an appropriate price point, etc...Wonder who, if anyone, will fill the clothing void that ToJ will leave behind frown.gif

I'm looking for a unique lighter colored jacket in either lamb or suede before the window closes. What do you guys suggest? Here's what I have so far:

A-2 brown lamb bomber

3-zip MDR black lamb

CM brown lamb

4-zip silver black lamb moto

Toj1 black/black

Toj0 navy/sand

Black wool MA-1

Yeah a moto would probably suit me best. If I should go for a 2 zip or 4 zip and dark brown goat or not, I'm still not sure..

Edit: I have blonde hair and pale skin, which kind of steers towards a lighter color, or am I wrong here?

No lamb suede in there; you could try a t1/t3

While I like Dbears recommendation. On your hair/skin type, I hate to say it but the lamb whiskey would be the winner. It looks dope with silver zips.

I like the 2-zip, but everyone else likes the 4-zip so go with whatever you like best.

If you want a more durable leather, you might try tan calf or maybe the brown unglazed goat. The oxblood is darker, but I think it looks pretty sick.

You might also like the whiskey lamb.

Nope. Step down, and you're looking at Schott, Vanson, Fox Creek Leather. Step up, and you're looking at Langlitz, Lewis Leather, Aero.

Schott jackets used to be around $300-$400. Prices have gone up to $600 since then.

I've been researching leather jackets since 2008, and TOJ was always on my radar as Drew was getting better and better at his craft. It wasn't until 2011 when I stumbled back onto the thread and seen how much he had grown. His departure will be a gaping hole that will be vacant until he decides to come back.

Only Langlitz will provide the same level of customization, but you're looking at a base of $900 to start, with each option you add bumping up the price by $50 or so. By the time I made something that looked like a 2013 DR, it was $1.5k. Whomever is on the fence, cop it and cop it now. Else regret it. Same goes w/ the bombers. You will cry when you try on an Alpha Industries jacket, lamenting that you didn't purchase a TOJ A2 or CWU 45 when you had the chance.

It's hard to capture the color of the olive calf in photos, I have looked at most of them in the gallery and they vary quite a bit. I am inclined to say that these are the most accurate:

Trying my best with my own jacket:

It's like a medium brown with a touch of green to it. I actually think my pictures are pretty darn close (at least on my monitor), but as you look at it from a further distance, it starts to look more like the 2nd picture shown. It's definitely not as dark as the olive lamb, at least from what I gather from the pictures.

Olive green looks good. If I didn't have the brown lamb, I think I'll go right ahead and get it, but like you said, it kinda does fulfill the same role, esp since they're both gonna be DRs.

And so my TOJ adventures end for now, with the sent payment for a black lamb BCDR with silver zips. It will join its brothers, the ribbed CWU, cracked pepper fishtail and the forthcoming navy/sandtan TOJ0. I've spent far too much on jackets this year, curse you TOJ.

Does the pricing include taxes? I'm almost ready to order a BCDR. Any suggestions on hardware? I dress very James Dean-like. This will be my first and last TOJ from the sounds of things..
