Not sure why everyone is suddenly obsessed with sleeve width measurements
The DR guy had been making them slimmer than they should have been, so after this was corrected, and the width measurements matched what people were told in their sizing consultation, some people who received their jackets after the change received DRs with wider sleeves than they were expecting (based on previous experiences). It's not a big deal, but guys just need to pay more attention now if they want to get the old skinny wrists.
As for the bombers, I'm pretty sure sleeve&wrist width might have an effect on how intense your stacking looks. The two 2010DRs I've owned have had looser sleeves (think Drew's 5zip fit), and my CWU-45 had wider sleeves compared to my A2 (whose sleeves have a really nice taper). The 2010s and CWU45 develop pronounced creases around the brachioradialis (sorry dont know the colloquial term) that I don't see on my A2 (stacking is pretty uniform) or MDR (the stacking on this is beautiful but I haven't been able to get a good pic of it). The creasing around the forearm kind of affects the appearance, because in my case, stacking is extreme in there, but not so much near the wrist. I've read a post by another user who also noted bomber sleeve width's effect on stacking, but didn't elaborate much on it..
Anyways, it's not a big deal. Your jacket will look great as long as you listen to Charly. I'm just saying that these things probably do affect the fit, and are probably noted in jacket r&d to create the housefit.
