But then how would I find a leather jacket that fits my massive future pecs?

blaz3n, head their advice. That's a 52 in the picture, and trust that my back and chest look nothing like yours. You may be better off with the MTM jackets than trying to stuff yourself into one of these.

Thanks for your input, Is this a TOJ0 2013? The fit looks very nice.

We've gotten bigger guys into those jackets, but you're obviously well beyond 'avg/largish' build and into the full-on lifter category. The lower-end jackets just won't fit.

Thanks for your help, thats the route I will probably take.. I'll definitely set aside some money for my first TOJ leather.. I'm really liking the Moto 2011, the others are just too "busy" for my liking.

Blazen, i dont mean to warn you iff but to reinforce drews comment, Charly set me up with a 56, bigger overall measurmements and my shoulders are at 19.5-20 not quite as broad you and thats probably the place where im closest to feeling restricted. I like the fit but im a 38 waist sweatpants and 80s bathroom fit pic

This is actually a very very nice fit, exactly what I was aiming for.. You said you took a 56? The TOJ0 2013 only goes up to a 54 though, mind sharing your body measurements?

Thanks. TOJ1 ordered a couple weeks before it got discontinued. Notice the zipper vs snaps.

I am also pretty broad with some sort of a drop and find that the MTM leathers do fit alot better just because you can get more of a taper in the waist and add some with to the arms/pit area so your muscles don't bulge out in a bad way. I did find that the TOJ0 2011 had more room in the sleeves, but the body would look boxy if i sized for my shoulders - making me look fat overall. I have another leather coming in a few months with an increase in size to my last jacket, hopefully it will accomodate well.

Damn... now I'm worried about the cuffs. If it does turn out to be too big, would it be possible to bring it to a tailor to fix? :O Don't think I can submit a change request as i'm on week 12 now...

Edit: wohoo! change request accepted biggrin.gif

Yup, same exact concern I had.. I was basically sizing up just to fit my shoulders, which would of definitely resulted in a huge waist/midsection circumference, which would of made me look fat lol

Definitely, share those fit pics when you get your new leather

Three ways of going about it..

- Very tight upper and fitted torso

- Snug upper and loose torso

Clothing shaped to have a fitted upper AND torso on someone with a big drop does not look good - definitely off-putting.

I usually go for the second with rider/moto jackets. The last with ribbed models.

Hey everyone,

I posted a similar question earlier in this thread but unfortunately by the time it was approved it showed up 12 pages back.

I just placed an order for a 2011 Moto - Lamb, and was hoping to get some feedback on the final measurements.

My body measurements are the following:

Shoulders - 17.5"
Chest - 42"
Midsection - 34.5"
Waist - 36"
Front Length - 22.5"
Sleeve Length- 26.5"
Bicep - 14"

Height - 73" (6ft 1in)
Weight - 183 lbs

And the jacket dimensions I plan to go with are: (Note: I told Charly "Ideally I would like the jacket to be pretty fitted, yet still be able to wear a thin hoodie underneath.")

shoulders 18.0"
chest (pit-to-pit) 22.5"
midsection 19.5"
waist 20.0"
body length, front 22.5"
body length, back xxx"
sleeve length, from shoulder 25.8"
sleeve width @ pit 7.6"
sleeve width @ elbow 6.7"
sleeve width @ cuff 5.3"

I know this a pretty open ended question, but I think some insight from people with similar builds and more familiarity with the jacket can help me get the fit right the first time around. Front length was initially 23.5", dropped it down to 22.5" which when standing straight up, from collarbone down, hits a little under my belt loop but above my pockets (jeans sit ~ 3.75" under belly button, and 22.5" front length hits ~5.75" below belly button).

Any advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated,

- sam

Good to know about the cuffs. My CM (from like Feb. of last year) has really slim wrists when the cuff is zipped, and if I'm wearing a big watch I definitely can't rotate my wrist freely with the cuff zipped, but I thought that was on purpose. I like the really slim wrist when zipped personally, but yeah I have to wear slimmer watches (or no watches) if I want to zip them up.

I knew there was something up with the cuff sizes!

I'm considering ordering a Moto 2011, but I'd like to see the colors of leathers I can get it in. Sorry if this is a dumb question, is there any page that shows this?
