That's the point...  that it's that far spread apart when it's not closed

When the jacket first arrives, the ribbing hasn't stretched at all. Just about every jacket will have that look until you wear it zipped long enough for the ribbing to extend appropriately. I believe Drew himself has mentioned this a few times.

Gotcha, thanks for explaining it

I think FireGX meant he assumed he would receive tracking today since someone who ordered after him already got theirs (TOJ1). Unfortunately, FireGX, lead times are not uniform across all jacket models.

Seeing as a big batch of A-2s went out recently, the bomber guy might be working on something else like CWUs or maybe even did those TOJ1s. In other words, I wouldn't get your hopes up too high for next week.

Then again, seeing that giant rack of beautiful bombers and not making the cut has turned me bitter and cynical.

Bunch of motos and shirts also went out this past week, if that means anything to anyone.

Picked up my calf dr2010 from the PO today. ordered nov 10, shipped out tuesday, was supposed to get it yesterday but i wasn't home

My first impressions from handling the calf is that it is true that it is a lot stiffer compared to the lamb and goat, but it's not as stiff as i was expecting it to be ( though that "armerz" comment a while back was no joke). It's also a lot glossier-looking (as you'll see from the pics). It is a very nice calf and I don't regret choosing it at all.

That being said, now that I've handled all 3, I deeply prefer the lamb (on my qdr). So much softer and nicer and easy to put on.

now pics:

I took off about an inch from the length of my qdr and that proved to be a little shorter than expected lol, but it looks fine unzipped i think

also here's some pics of my other jackets for reference:

Drew, the JC website mentions that there are other possible colors for the suiting wool ma-1. Did you have anything in particular in mind when you wrote that? or is that just a small aside for people looking for something besides navy/black? I imagine it would be pretty cool to do an army green while maybe playing around with the color of the ribbing on the jacket's sleeves, hem, and neck. Or keeping the navy and doing cream-colored ribbing. At least it seems good in my head.

Army green isn't exactly a common colour for suiting fabrics. I emailed and asked about colour options and was told a dark grey or charcoal would also be available. I was hoping that the light grey flannel would also be available, but it would probably have durability issues. I dunno why you'd want contrast ribbing tbh.

Drew, which style would you recommend for red soft calf? 4zip moto, 3zip MDR, with or without shoulder quilting?
I already have a dark whisky calf CM, I think I d like something red and something in that unglazed grey goat, probably a moto or CM

Coulda sworn I'd seen a cool ma-1 with contrast ribbing in the ma-1 jackets thread, but I could be wrong.
