Damn I cannot decide on color. Black and yellow is probably the coolest but I don't know if I can pull it off, especially with yellow snaps. Next option is black/sand or all black, but the latter is kind of redundant since I have a black lamb DR 2010 and an MA-1 that's shipping out as soon as tomorrow. I'm leaning towards black sand right now as it's less flashy than the yellow but still really nice sounding.I think if I ordered one in all black I would just end up favoring my leathers over it most/all of the time. Now I'm thinking grey/black sleeves... damnit.

^ just double down and get another leather.  problem solved.  

 

I wanted the Batman color scheme, but I don't think I could wear it with many outfits, and I don't think years down the road it's something I can wear. I ordered black/sand, much easier to pair with things. Then I switched to navy/sand as I like that color way much better. Don't go all black if you have black leathers. I think the sand will offer the coolest contrast to the dark wool body. But that's my opinion.

So I know TOJ1s can't be ordered anymore, so I've been poking around on the internet for one. I actually do not have access to a tape measure right now to measure my best-fitting jacket, so I'm just curious as to how they fit. I'm pretty much a stock medium but I've heard the 48s run a bit small. Would a 50 be a better bet for a basic medium like me who wants a slim fit?

Jamesons were holding their 'cult film club' night tonight ... whiskey and Reservoir Dogs. Wore the medium grey MDR.

It's 14 months old. One small scratch on the back, not really noticeable at all. Some 'scuffing' on the right cuff. No idea how that happened, but I'm kind of happy for this thing to take a few knocks and look nicely worn in.

Any of you single needle diamond quilt bcdr dudes coming up close on your eta?

I think I'm pretty set on channel quilting, but I really want to holdout to make sure I'm not making a huge mistake by overlooking the diamonds.

In my experience a lot of random scuffs appear on the lamb. At first I was being all careful and thinking I must be bumping into shit and damaging it, or that my messenger bag was rubbing it raw, but the wear is all over after a year or so and I figure that's just how the leather wears.

It's the scuff fairy. He comes every night and sneaks some hints of a rugged lifestyle into your wardrobe!

the fit you like is pretty much the tailored look TOJ is always going for. the fit you didnt like was on someone that doesnt look to have a big drop from shoulders to waist. EDIT: its still a great fit.

 

Youll see it said a hundred times on here; Trust Charly, give him your honest measurements, measure your body and a jacket you really like. pay attention to where your length lands, let him know your bulking up. all that shit. Trust them, they do good work.

The real mystery now is the lead time for the wool MA-1's. Here's to hoping they're made by someone who isn't loaded with other jackets.

Hehe, that second pic is me. I'm 6'5", 200 lbs. Chest around 43", waist 38". I have huge hips so not a big drop, plus narrow shoulders (only 19"). The jacket is actually pretty tight on me, I could never even imagine sitting down in it still.

 

Edit - not sure this makes a difference, but my jacket is calf. It's also longer than the other guy's, goes past my pockets.

I have a single stitch diamond quilt leather placed at the end of Dec. 2012 that I'll snap pics of when it gets here.

The length I think best suits me is about 3-4 inches below my belly button, or to be more exact:  1 inch above where my pubic erectus begins.
