In my opinion: If you think wearing a monochrome t-shirt and some jeans that fit feels out of character (or scary) then save yourself the closet space and skip on the rider. If you're self-conscious about hardware, why bother with a rider? Opt for a CM, bomber, or trucker. If the jacket fits your frame and the rest of your clothes fit, it will look good on you. If youre the type of guy who wants to 'mix things up' by throwing a rider over your obcd/chino/brogue uniform, save people the eyesore and cop a bomber or truckers jacket. Black lamb silver 4zip DR is king, and if you only want/can have 1, get the 4zip. The finishing on the cuffs, the balance of details on the front, and the cut of the jacket make it one of the most baller choices next to the bcdr imo.

Can you record a reading of this so I can play it every time I charge into battle?

I personally like the gunmetal hardware over silver

Does anyone have the TOJ Winter Varsity (discontinued)? Curious as to what makes it so different from a regular varsity, how warm it is, etc.

It has a quilted lining. Maybe a bit of poly fill. It was warm but not too warm. Not something I'd wear in the northeast right now but a good three season bomber.

Click there and it would have brought you here with the original post when the item was first introduced, including a full description. Or you could have clicked on the pictures in the gallery where quite a few people have reviews included underneath their photos that were also taken from their post about the product they received.

I set up the gallery this way so that when people do have these types of questions in their heads, the answers are readily available without you having to actually ask. If you have any more questions, at the top of each gallery image is the username of the person who posted the photo(s)/review and you can just look them up and PM them. This goes for all the product galleries.

I've been to the TOJ gallery site a bunch of times and I've never noticed the message/hyperlink at the bottom of each gallery. I am shamed beyond all belief.

Thoughts on the fit? Not sure if I should keep

fit looks great, just wear unzipped. I've got a couple jackets (not toj) I can only wear unzipped and it's fine.

Why can't the next gen peacoat be 6 roll 4 too frown.gif

It's 8 roll 4. The other peacoat is gonna be 8 roll 6. 6 to 4 wouldn't be enough buttons and would make it look like a girl's peacoat. redface.gif

You mentioned that the 8 roll 4 admirals with 4 pockets will be slightly longer and less boxy than the original.

Does that mean the new 8 roll 6 will also be longer and less boxy or will the cut be like the original?
