New peacoat looks pretty.

Hoping to see more colors for the MA-1 in near future.

I'm trying to look in vain through various threads to find out why ToJ discontinued the varsities & baseball jackets, if in fact there were any reasons given. (Very disheartening news to find out, because one or the other was going to be my first purchase to save up for before stepping up for some dank leather. ) Perhaps making the leather jackets is higher-margin or something like that, or they are just too overbooked? Can anyone point me in the right direction to find some answers?

Don't want to speak for Drew, but I think he likes to keep things fresh -- moving onward and upwards. When he's done all he can with a model, it's time to move on. Maybe something like that will come back (see the peacoat returning), or maybe he'll drop something even better in the future. Always be checking B&S if you really can't live without those other jackets.

Good question, glad you asked - it's a Japanese-made 100% wool twill. In other colors besides navy we'll find something similar but maybe not striated like the navy, we're still in the beginning stages with the wool coat sampling right now. The lining is bemberg, so much nicer fabric in and out than we've had previously, really excited and I want to get more serious about the wool coats this year.

I'm thinking of pretty much skipping over S/S this year, because by the time my samples for F/W will be ready, it'll be late Spring, and given our production load and some internal things we need to take care of in the beginning part of this year - that'll be the right timing to do what is becoming basically a pre-order on the F/W pieces. I'll have them finished and shown by that time. It'll be pretty fantastic looking, as far as I'm seeing in my head. That might well and truly be the beginning of the John Coppidge era. Ladies will get some, or a lot of attention as well. I've been getting more in touch with my feelings about clothes again lately, made some new female friends lately that I can discuss clothes and lives with sometimes, and I feel more in tune with how I want to dress women - it's gonna basically be how I'd dress myself if I woke up as a woman. lol... which is naturally the style counterpart to the TOJ male. It'll be great. John Coppidge just wants everybody to look sexy in leather and fine wools.

Apart from that, yes, expect an expanded range of wool coats, to complement an expanded range of leather jacket styles. We'll go pretty hard this year.

So nice. On that fine wool note, ordered the MA-1.

Man oh man, hope something like what mvpberto had suggested a few weeks ago makes the cut - if not, new peacoat looks like a great option already.

Already thinking about the admiral's coat for next winter -- I hope you put lining in the slash pockets for either p, though. nod[1].gif
