Drew, what leather that you currently have in stock (or will have shortly) develops the nicest patina as it wears?

What looks the best after it's been worn-in?

If you had said you liked black calf suede in my other post, I would have pulled the trigger on a new bcdr immediately but now I'm back considering material options.

good question. There are a couple horsehides I am about to release with the new color chart; there is an unusually nice brown in there. It's chocolate-y but not too dark. It would be fantastic from the time it comes out of the package until the time it gets into old age. There's also a burnished dark tan that is similar, pictured to the left here. Same. We don't have much of either and I'm not taking orders for them til we get a color chart pulled together (still doing that, there's leather from two separate markets here, tons of wholesalers in the mix and I gotta also organize them so we can go back and get them)

Also, we came across some mild zipper options I'll talk about later. We have a small supply of YKK Excella (the highest line of YKK Japan, comparable to Riri (possibly better?) - they have flat, thick teeth and are polished to mirror finish, they look quite a bit different than the standard YKK Japans that we normally use. The effect would be a little different and for people who like zippers, but I think on something light colored they'd be fantastic actually. They are significantly more expensive so I'd have to go back and find out the price and then make a price for that upgrade, but they are cool and I'd like to make a jacket with them someday.

Please refresh my memory, does the bomber guy work with horsehide?

How would this look on the new MA-1? Too flashy?

hope you'll be impressed with it. They'll probably need a quick wash and a press (they're prewashed to shrink the fabric, but just to rinse any workshop dust off it) and they should be great. There's a few more we didn't send today as we ran out of buttons and gotta go pick those up Monday, finish the last of those shirts, then send them out mid-week.

Ordered a peacoat on 10/6, got tracking today 1/25. Woo.

Contemplating a wool MA-1 now.
