Re: Asian hair - same boat here. I want to have shorter hair again but I forget how easily my hair turns into a mess within a couple weeks; haircuts every 3 weeks are mandatory if I'm keeping my hair short. I always had to get the ends cleaned up, get it all thinned out (this is where your $15 haircut turns into a $75 one - are they using thinning shears, or can they thin with normal scissors? The latter is what thick Asian hair needs and few stylists can do it well, especially in America) and then when styling, as someone mentioned, you need to shape it as your blow dry it. Spread wax all over your palms very thinly and try to apply only lightly to the hair, and shape chunks of it and get some movement in your hair (natural direction, towards the back I guess) and if you want to, you can hit it with the blow dryer again to melt the wax a bit and keep it diffused.
