The new official TOJ thread, 2011 - Page 1690

There's a second benefit to a TOJ used market (besides granting a discount to people who don't want to wait for one with their own measurements).

It means those of us who own jackets have willing buyers. It lowers the risk to entry a little bit. If you are not sure something will fit or work with your style, there are plenty of people who will very happily pick up a used TOJ. You'll have to sell it at a discount, but it seems like less of a discount than a similar non-TOJ garment might require.

Imagine trying to sell a MTM blazer that you ordered from some guy in japan who's got a company in korea who put it all together for you--no, they don't have a website, just an email and a tumblr with some pictures. I don't know much about the going rates of used TOJ, but it sounds like you can sell the core pieces at what...a $150 discount? Much more willing to take a risk if that is all that is on the line (you're going to lose a lot more money trying to sell a MTM/custom piece from somewhere that's not a forvm favorite)

I honestly think it looks fine, it just depends on your body type really in looking at those pictures and because its calf it's thicker and doesn't really drape like the lamb does. It'll wear down some and become easier to move around in, in judging from those pictures. But that's my personal opinion

As much as this thread tends to obsess over fit imperfections way too much, I think this one's just too small. It's not unwearable, but the sleeve length and bunching at the waist (the jacket is not supposed to rest on the hips like that) are legit problems.

His looks more narrower than my moto but I actually have the same issue with the bunching on the back but for me it's do to an arching back and big butt which kinda creates this effect with the moto from the hem but the sleeves do seen a bit short like you guys are saying. But mine I've actually wore quite often. So idk

Yeah it is slim through the body, but not tight. It's just that I do have a pronounced back curve and massive fucken glutes, so it causes it bunch there which is the same effect as a ribbed jacket like on aeglus:

Is the consensus that this will need to be sized up or still wearable? I am going to try to let it settle to see how it goes since its a tough calf jacket.

On another note... the quality is amazing and i don't find calf to be thicker than lamb, just tougher and feels like something that will break in so nicely that it'll last for decades.

That's a sick jacket but it looks a little small to me. Maybe after the leather stretches?

It's different with the ribbing (though it's worth noting that aeglus wears that a lot tighter than, say, Drew in the 2011 bomber pictures).

Anyway, don't count on any stretching from the calf. It'll drape better over time, but it won't stretch like lamb. I don't think it looks awful, but I'd probably reorder.

man aeglus used to dress like a nerd hahaha

Same thing happened to me I literally opened it once and never closed it again, they're sending me a button and I'm taking it to my cobbler to fix (he also works on leather jackets)

I don't know about that particular one, but usually when drew takes those shots it's not a jacket made for him personally, and it's usually a size or so bigger than he usually wears so of course it's going to look more relaxed

As far as bunching in the back, w/ the riders its bound to happen at least a little bit unless you size it to fit really short / have no ass. Mine does it a bit, especially if I layer much under it.
