regarding the herringbone material, I think that detail is a point Drew was trying to make regarding his earlier post.

You guys will love it when seen in person and the subtle texture will give an otherwise flat look the balance and attention to detail, which is the TOJ and soon to be JC signature. Don't think of it because it is a herringbone suiting material hence it may look like an orphaned jacket.

And it's not the commentary on availability and what OTHER options are there but more so curiosity. Drew has spoiled us honestly, and such questions are not to be unexpected.

I find your comment a bit ironic also coming from someone who got a fully customized jacket.

It is quite simple, Brad. Drew shows off a new product, people give feedback on it. Drew is something of a genius when it comes to designing these jackets, granted, but people will still voice their opinions. When you release a MA-1 in an unconventional material, then you should expect some comments. I mean, if you released a DR in a non-leather material, then people would speak up, regardless of the quality of said piece (this is only an example).

If you expect to be able to show off a prototype of a fashion stable in an unconventional material to such a broad, diverse audience without any kind of comments/complaints/suggestions. Then you should probably calibrate your expectations.

And this is not to say that Drew (or anyone in his position) should just take any measure of shit. But this a an open forum. Not everyone will appreciate a piece for the work and detail that is put in it. Especially when it is a fashion stable like the MA-1. People have their premade expectations, and if they are not met, they are likely to voice this clash of expectation.

I guess what I am really trying to get to is that if you don't want any kind of buzz around your prototype jackets, you probably shouldn't put them up for discussion with a buch of fashion illiterates like myself.

Suprised the 2011 duffle isn't getting more love. Anyone have one?

Also, I just want to make clear that I am not speaking against the new MA-1 iteration, because I think it looks fucking dope. What I am (trying to) speaking against is the auto-reaction of a certain group of overly attached tojfriends, who attack anyone who posts anything that is not outright praise.

Was running around town today and, suddenly at the farmers' market, went "oh shit, that wool MA-1, gorgeous next level version of the normal MA-1, concept flip w/ the wool, close-up surprise twist w/ the herringbone, shit will slay" and now I check in here and see this disaster happened and been half cleaned up, wtf you guys, I'm glad people came around

It just gets redundant when you have fifty people posting about how they want it to be nylon or waterproof when it's been said way before that it's not nylon, nor will it be, nor is it waterpoof and the reasons why were given.
