This little gem got overlooked... never talk to people with TOJ. Just find them on the internet.

Seriously STFU and let the Grand Master do his thing, people criticizing prototypes because they are 'too nice' is the fucking worst end of story
Drew, put the MA-1 up for sale!

It has nothing to do with "too nice." It's about functionality.

I think it's a really cool idea to put the wool in personally and would love to see one, but then I'm less concerned because it's not a piece that fits in my style, so I'd be just an observer.

It's fine suiting wool. I doubt it will get fuzzy at all if you care about it somewhat, and you will because of it being an expensive piece.

Well made suits last forever and age well. Nylon usually don't. They get faded by the sun and so on.

I think a fine wool bomber is much better suited for a minimalist style than a one made of nylon. Nylon bombers are to me something you wear with faded indigo or black jeans, a scoop/v neck tee and a pair of sneakers like GATs or some boots. That is, a typical inoffensive SW&D approved fit. This wool bomber is more "fashion-forward" to me and makes me think of some of the brands stocked at Suspension Point.

I think this bomber would look great with your Yohji-style (which is dependent on good fabrics) , at least much more so than a typical nylon bomber.

You know your not going to be using your jacket in a rainstorm at 20 degree weather so why complain. Your not buying a sweater, so the wool won't pil it's fine wool but tightly woven wool. The idea that TOJ would be selling you something without any type of quality control would be stupid, that's what the basis of what it's always been around from how I've know it. Quality outerwear that's affordable, everyone knows your going to get a great piece. Yes it would be cool to have a nylon from TOJ because you know it's going to be a great piece but you could always buy an M-1 that you know won't be anywhere close to the TOJ one.

I don't think anyone is arguing that the wool will shrivel up and disintegrate, nor do I think anyone is assuming the wool will be low quality. The point is that most people buy an MA-1 to be a beater jacket--it's not held in the same niche, wear-when-it's-nice-out status as a harrington. You talk about leathers, but people beat the shit out of their leathers and they look awesome. Warning that you have to nap down your wool suiting cloth jacket with a towel if you happen to get caught in the rain is counter to what people want to wear an MA-1 for.

No one's saying it's not an interesting idea to do it this way. I actually think it'll look (key word: look) pretty cool. It'll probably also feel pretty cool. But as long as we're talking about suiting cloth wool, this will never be more than a niche piece, which is maybe what Drew wants anyways. But I know that because of it, probably about half the people that were interested in the TOJ MA-1 will not be buying it.

Drew you've really outdone yourself on that ladies jacket. Looks like it's on a whole new level. Also quality photographs are a huge help.

This should be a place where people can voice their opinions without fear of being made into a lengthy (though hilarious) youtube video. Drew is a creator and as creators, for better or worse, we don't get to decide how our creations are received. This is not a reason to stop creating or abort a project. Drew is in the fortunate position as leader of The Holy Temple, to decide whether he wants to follow his vision for a given project or adjust it based on feedback/demand. This situation is preferable to having some sort of 'unofficial toj discussion thread' and letting this one be purely informative. I enjoy seeing the outcome when Drew puts his mind to something, even when it's not exactly what I wanted.

Of course all of this is irrelevant because as soon as synth buys an ma-1 and posts a pic everyone will want one.

I think expressing your feedback is fine, but 1) some people are seriously overstating the delicacy of wool, and 2) the same points are being repeated ad nauseum
