Aesthetics aside, not sure why so many people are complaining about the fabric choice. It's something new and interesting, and I'd trust the guy who's handled and had a hand in building the prototype.

The MA-1 looks sick. It's not for me but it looks sick.
My favorite fabric from my suits (unfortunately the fabric is not on my favorite suit) is herringbone and its just like Drew says. It doesn't show up in person like a pinstripe like some people seem to be seeing in the pictures, but it instead looks like a solid until you see it in bright sunlight/up close and say WUT?! because all of the sudden there's something extra poking its head out.

I thought about it but in the end, just wanted to top it off with something like the usual gas mask flap; that pocket is designed to fit your cell phone, and slants down slightly on the inside so that it stays kinda nestled in there and you can feed your headphone cords out of it, so that is a plus.

Drew, my AE MA1 rocks and gets tons of wear, just one comment on cell phones. I put mine in the arm office but it is just a bit tight with the iphone 5 (fit the 4 perfectly). Not sure if your arm office scales with body size or not (I wear 52) but just an extra 0.5-1 cm would be awesome for the iPhone and wouldn't screw up your pattern too much. Love the jacket.

One of the reasons I'm sure that most others don't come out with something like this, is because the fabric is really expensive. We have as much in this as a normal tailored suit jacket of good quality.

depending on where you live, you're not going to get that much wear out of a leather whether you get it in tomorrow or 8 weeks, and itll take much longer to wait around and find someone with exactly what you wanted for sale, at a price that you're willing to pay. only jackets that make sense getting off the BS are the stock options, if you happen to see your size when you're thinking about buying. otherwise why not get your MTM jacket for YOU, not save a couple weeks (which you wouldnt save in the end) and a couple bucks

you're not allowed to ask about buying secondary market in this thread iirc. asking about buying toj jackets but toj not getting any money from it in this thread is kinda scummy.
