Good deal. I happen to have some Reno and Mahogany Saphir creme in front of me, though will probably not bother with the creme as it's a very tiny scratch. Honestly I doubt anyone but me would notice it, but even smoothing out the color differential a little would go a long way towards me not noting it every time I move my hand.

Regular collar ftw.

I know Drew doesn't like the nylon available on the market, but I can't be the only one that feels like a more outdoor-friendly protective fabric would be way better.

And am I right in seeing that the suit fabric has a subtle pinstripe? Not really feeling it, which is a shame since the silohuette, zips, and everything else looks top notch.

I went for a ribbed collar, that was just a gut feeling for me. I think it looks baller, while the collar looks dressier. Don't think too hard. As my friend and I always discuss, just flip a coin, and see how you feel with the decision that it gives you. 

 

The jackets Drew has offered are amazing, so I don't want to sound like a whiney ingrate, but a waterproof jacket would be awesome.

Drew super 150s is quite light, not that a fabric can't be both light and sturd, but why not go for a heavier wool?

probably b/c it's filled.  and didn't he say he specifically wanted it a little puffy, and sort of like you're wearing a duvet.  

 

seriously, all this "i want it this way b/c i like it this way" won't end well.

People are allowed to say how they feel. Personally, I think the MA-1 looks ridiculously dope, but won't be buying it because of concerns about functionality/I have way too much outerwear anyway. If anything, it's probably helpful for Drew to hear a little bit of feedback either way. The fanboys bitching about whiners is almost as annoying as the whining itself.

There is a thin line between stating a preference, and telling drew he's screwing up his brand.

Yea, I think constructive criticism is pretty valuable for a small operation which is founded on its close relationship with its customers.

That said, I'm not entirely sold on the pinstripeyness of the fabric (it just reminds me of my first suit, an ill-fitting abomination that I wore to dances/stupid shit). It depends on how subtle it is and how it affects the overall color. The formality of the piece is ffine, i can see it being paired nicely with a tee or a...hidden placket button up

I'll really need to see it worn before I'm convinced of the puff to form ratio, for me this would be the biggest dealbreaker. A little puff/volume is great, but it's a fine line in my mind and I often enjoy the slimmer models anyways (shocker)

I think people get carried away with the suggestions because they feel connected to TOJ, on a personal level. Many of the regulars here have seen it go from Drew seeing an opening with the varsity jackets to where he is now and feel, perhaps unrighteously so, that they've been a part of the process. I'd rather see suggestions for further projects vs the usual diet of sizing questions and what happened to the website posts.

Has to be quilted and deploy from a taped seam back pouch with a hidden placket that conceals platinum RiRi 2 way zippers. Fur trim optional.
