What are the prices for restored vintage G-wagens like in Japan?

they kept importing them here without interruption from the '90's to the present, unlike America where you had to buy old ones through that grey market importer or later buy a brand new one, after 2004 or something. You can get a pretty nice 2002 or 2003 G500 (older 3v engine with the newer interior from 02) for like $30K here. They are supremely popular here, you see one every time you turn around.

That's pretty darn awesome. Must be pretty cool to see them around so much. Don't why I'm so attracted to the G's so much. They handle and ride like crap but I love it.

The G-wagen works for Japan on a way different level - it's very functional as it's actually not so large, but large enough to be useful and comfortable, mostly vertical height - the flat sides maximize space and aid in parking and spatial distances, like a Scion xB but nicer - and then on an aesthetic level it's a 1970's geometric thing which is repeated in its surroundings as buildings, neighborhood layouts, all you see is shiny squares and tiles here - it harmonizes well.

And I'm only Nigerian from the waist down. Desiboy must've ordered a TOJ1 in a less popular color or asked for some sort of customization?

I just got a toj1. It seems like it's very well made, but it might be the wrong one.

Hoooly ****....

Just to counter whatevers happening there...

Drew, I feel like a bit of a dick for not remembering/knowing about the extent of your hearing loss when we met up. I promise to bring one of the 15 whiteboards that adorn my desk if you ever stop by again.

Still, thanks to you and the lovely Mrs. TOJ again for all your sizing help!

If I had to buy a cheap commuter I'd probably get a basic Prius, how much are they in the US?

I'm pretty sure the price on them is somewhat inflated due to the relative novelty of hybrids and the popularity of the Prius in particular. They were also primarily targeted at people that care more about their environmental impact, which I think tends to overlap a lot with people that have disposable income. Haven't looked at them in a few years though (when my fiancee bought her last car), so they may have become more reasonable, especially with some competition from Chevy and Nissan coming.

To go off topic and talk about leather jackets (random, I know), I've just recently joined SF and have been devouring pics of TOJ's work. It's quite awesome how personal and hands-on you guys are, if you'll forgive the pun.

That VTG collared moto looks ungodly sick, and is exactly the sort of leather I'm looking for. I kindof have a thing for clothes that improve with age. I'll be watching patiently for its availability, and probably saving up in hopes that my fiancee won't make me feel like I'm a complete idiot with finances.

Drew and Charly,

I just wanted to say thanks and how absolutely blown away I am by the TOJ1 I just received...

I ordered it 10/9 and just got it today...It shipped friday and was at my work by today..

So so so amazing.

I'm immediately getting rid of my Thom Browne and Visvim varsity.

The fit on this is perfect.

I went with a sz 50 and i'm so glad I did.

I'll put pics up later for y'all.

I'm now a TOJ disciple for life...up next DR?! We'll see how Christmas goes haha.

haha. sorry man, funny pic. Looks as though the order got garbled, so talk to Charly about resolving it and you'll get your order (I just talked to Charly now and it seems you guys are already in progress on this, so ignore me)
It's unlikely that it's someone else's jacket as we have some systems in place to prevent that. That has only ever happened once, between two Vietnamese-American dudes who have the same exact name and we sent one the other guy's jacket.

Sxcdesiboy, what is your name? Or are you trolling me? I am looking over my sheets and I don't see an Indian name on there that could have been waiting that long. I see a Patel on there but he's probably only been waiting 3 weeks or so, as Charly took that order.
Timmbo is at the top of the sheet (closest to ship) because he changed his order 3 or 4 weeks in, and so it's being done now.
