Hey,

The TOJ1's run about a size small so a 52 equals about a large.

So I told Charly:

Damn, that was fast.

I am a 42R/L in a suit and 16.5 34/35 in dress shirts, would that 52 suffice?

I am looking at getting the Black on Black TOJ1 2011 with the solid black lining.

How early could I place my order?

He replied:

Depends on how slim you want it to fit and where you carry most of your weight. If you have broad shoulders, you might wan to go with a 54.

You can place your order right away.

At this point I had not even considered a 54. I figured he must think I bigger than I really am. Thats when I used the jacket measurements and gave him my measurements to show him my size. He still recommended a 54.

Ok, I bought a Levi's Slim Denim Jacket just for this.

Here are the following measurements of the jacket (i like the fit)

Shoulders 19"

Pit to Pit     22"

Mid             22"

Waist          21"

Front          24.5"

Sleeve       27"

Sleeve Widths

bicep          8.5"

elbow         7"

wrist            5.5"

My Measurements are:

Shoulders 18"

Chest 42"

Waist  37"

Front   21"

Sleeve 27"

I am 6'3" and weight 210 lbs.

With this info can you advise me on what size I should go with. I would like it to fit slim.

I was considering 50 but not sure.

I just want my first TOJ to be a good experience.

Thanks in advance.

Here are pictures of me measuring the jacket and me wearing the Jacket

So, his 54 recommendation was before the jacket.

Seems like a stock 54 would be your best bet.

I was still worried about the sizing. So emailed him saying:

The measurements on the 54 scare me a lil bit. Scared it may be too big. Do they fit slim?

They fit a whole size smaller than the tagged size and fit pretty slim.
I'm usually an XL in jackets and the shoulders are tight in on me with a 54 in the TOJ1.

At this point he has seen my pictures and when he said they fit tight on him I take it as he is my same size.

After seeing his pictures recently I understand why 54 would be tight on him. Dude is a beast. I am puny compared to him. He probably benches my 210lbs on the daily.

Saying I used the wrong jacket is a good copout but in this case Charly made his recommendation before the jacket was introduced.

I can get a good look at a T-bone by sticking my head up a bull's ass, but I'd rather take a butcher's word for it.

eh.gif I most often wear a medium, and I'm 6' 1" and < 160.

I think the only ToJ I've seen in the wild was Charly's.

It should be a bit more durable than the lamb (and obviously more textured) but what do you lose in feel/fit?

Congrats! I can't wait for my A2 as well. But in lighter brown goat. I try to survive the wait by not thinking about the jacket at all, but then there are days where I can't decide what jacket to wear and the first thought that pops into my head is "TOJ, leather, swag"

Yeah great choice mang^ love mine!

Got my peacoat (black/black, quilted lining) from deadline. It's well worth the wait. The material feels substantial, and blows away the other peacoats I've owned. My favorite part is the leather detailing on the collar/pockets. Thanks to Charly for the sizing help - I don't think there is anything I would change.

Apologies for the awful quality webcam pics, but at least you can get an idea of the fit.

For those who always ask, hayabusa - how warm do you feel in the peacoat with quilt lining, and where do you live?
I'm in B.C. (Canada), where winters are usually pretty mild. I haven't had a chance to wear it out yet, but judging by the thickness I'm confident it will do the job.

hmmm Peacoat looks beautiful... although not sure it will withhold the Monteal winters..

hayabusa, do you ride a hayabusa?

Any plans for a similar jacket?

This would look great with a dress shirt before and after 6pm

think I saw a ToJ in the wild today @ 007 Skyfall viewing, skinny asian dude with glasses.  Brown A2 but the shearling was darker than expected so I don't know for sure, ribbing looked spot on but the jacket looked thinner/slimmer (and less substantial) than what I imagine it to be so probably just a similar-looking bomber frown.gif

The shearling collar is darker than the brown lamb. A2 is a pretty classic style though, tons of companies have their own version that are all fundamentally very similar.
