I love it. John Coppidge is just fantastic.
It just works on any level you look at it.
Humour: check
Pleasant to say out loud: check
and as Willy demonstrated looks good in official looking fonts: check.

I mean look at this shit, it's perfect in Copperplate.

If it were my decision, I'd opt for the peacoat with polyfill lining and layer accordingly.

Just unloaded my 2009 bomber, which was an original size 50 and didn't fit anymore. Immediately ordered a brand new CWU-45/P that's about a size 51/52 in the new chart. Can't wait! Now for the wait again...

John Coppidge is witty and perfect. it absolutely needs to be spelled that way. It has an awesome posh anglo ring, like a savile row tailor or a st james hatmakers.

haha. thanks dudes. the humor in it is for our little group here; for the rest they can just find out later its a pseudonym.

Drew (or anyone with a fishtail) would you say fishtail w/o liner in is too warm for 30° F with just a heattech tee under?  Its usually very low humidity and not much windchill and between 20-30F all winter with rndom spurts ass freezing cold that never last more than two days worried that if the fishtail is so damn warm that im barely going to be able to use it other than stuntin at the resteraunts when I go up to vail.  When I order the fishtail I will provide a review of its ski capabilities.

I feel like two years from now there is going to be an awful post on foupins or valet explaining the joke behind john coppidge.

^no not even close. you could easily wear the liner in in 30 degree weather. Depends on your constitution + or - windchill. I don't think the fishtail is as heavy as most people make it out to be and I actually use it without the liner as a raincoat.

Fuckin called it.

But Drew, did you intend for Coppidge to be interpreted along the lines of "copping"? Like, "yo dog mad cops son"?

yes of course - it's jawn coppage. it also sounds feasible enough to be someone's name.

drew are there any jackets you have decided will become "staples" so to speak and continue on after TOJ ends? obviously not in any choices of colour or skin, but a peacoat in navy and grey or a couple leathers in black and brown lamb. i'm set for now with my leather and fishtail but could see myself wanting another leather in the future

Sort of like Yale Darlington

How feasible is it to source a brown-gray colored wool for the trousers btw?

The first rule of John Coppidge: You do not talk about [the origins of] John Coppidge.

With the end of mtm does that also mean the end of custom detailing?

Please give us all a warning of when MTM will end.
