you can also stick them under the leather and it holds in place if it really irks you.
the actual ball and chain pull is really cool to look at and doesnt look dainty at all satisfied.gif

I know how they look, I have two TOJ leathers (and a third on the way). I just don't get the idea of them on the breast pockets. Can't help but seeing ear ring nipple piercings all the time uhoh.gif

But that's not to say they're not top quality hardware, because they are.

The thing with leather jackets is, there are a ton of possibilities, but really, it comes back to the same classical details that make for nice jackets. Just a matter of mixing them into a nice looking piece. I think the YKK's are pretty cool actually. I have been on a months-long bender doing some soul searching and constantly thinking about leather jackets and all that, and keep coming back to the idea that classic is best. Maybe I'll rearrange some of the older TOJ's a little and see what I come up with later.

It's easier to do with a second set of hands though, so you don't end up with a cockeyed measurement (tape slips around the back, etc). Other measurements, like going across the back, or measuring sleeve length from the neck, etc, are rather tricky to do with one person. Not saying it can't be done, but if I'm dropping $700-800 on a jacket, why take the risk when I can just ask someone to help me out for a few minutes?

That would be so cool.

Did a search and there wasn't much consensus, maybe like 2-3 cases and some conflicting views. How does the lamb do in washes? I just picked up a grey MDR from another member and the elbows are too billowed out for me and further down than on my arms (short arms ftl). I was thinking about washing the whole thing to shrink it and then hang drying it to give it a nice drape. I woulda done it already if it was calf, but wasn't sure about the finer lamb. Or should I just warm/hot soak the arms?

On another note, how hard is it to shorten the arms? I thought it might be a bit difficult with the zipper and snap right there so I'm not sure if I should find a leather specialist or if a regular tailor will suffice.

Last note...first ToJ leather...it is niiiiceeee.

wouldn't wash it.

doesn't shrink.

leather isn't denim, you can't "unstretch" animal skin. you may as well just have the sleeves taken in, though the elbows will stretch so you may as well deal with it.
