Does anyone have any experience with the goat leather? I'm looking to get my hands on a Moto, and I am sort of split between calf and goat. I already got an lamb MDR, so I want to try one of the other leathertypes this time.

I do have a feeling the calf might be a bit too thick/heavy for my liking, which is why I am thinking goat. Has anyone got a goatskin toj who could tell me about it's qualities etc?

Goat is pretty soft, I personally wouldn't want it for a moto or DR

Can you elaborate a bit on this, please? I had the impression that goat was more sturdy than lamb, and my lamb MDRis quite lush.

It's soft, but not as in the buttery softness of the lamb. It's pliable from the get go though, so it certainly doesn't require any break in time like the calf, but still feels a bit more rugged than the lamb due to the texture. I like my 4 zip moto in goat.

Drew made a really extensive post detailing the available leather types. I wonder where it is...only if the SF search function was nicer.

Would anyone be willing to PM me and talk about sizing? I don't want to clog up the thread, but I've never bought a leather jacket before and I really want to get one in before this extended order thing ends. I also don't want to screw it up :/ If anyone would that would be awesome!

I believe goat is also going to be stronger and much more abrasion resistant for the thickness/weight than lamb. A lot of motorcycle stuff gets made from goat when it needs to be tough but not bulky (like the palms of summer weight gloves)

Is there a tentative deadline for this last clean up run floating around yet?

Thinking about black jacket either minimal lamb mdr or black goat ribbed collar cwu..

lamb = lux
goat = softer than calf, textured
cow = armerz

Is it used for that because it's durable or because it's bumpy (=grippy), though?
