I tried searching for this but were there any changes from the first iteration of the bball jacket to the one that recently came out besides a slightly longer length?

In short, it is AMAZING. Pictures can't do it justice. I received the package from the post office to find it lighter and thinner than my other TOJs. After unwrapping it, I quickly noticed how vibrant and beautiful the ribbing is in person and then how soft and thin (but durable) the suede is. This is the perfect spring/summer casual outer piece. I love it, I'm wearing it in 85F with a tee and I feel fine temperature wise. It wraps around you like a suede cocoon. So amazingly badass.

This is baseball jacket round 2 for me as TOJ was not offering any bigger than a 54, in stubbornness I ordered it anyway. Lo and behold it wasn't  quite big enough and I had to let it go on B&S. Well 6, 8, whatever odd months later after multiple polite requests and inquiries, Charly was good enough to put together a 56 for me and it fits like a fucking glove. The suede seems to be a bit thinner this go round but the change is for the better, last iteration felt a little stiff. I've got broad shoulders and a barrel chest and this buttons up chin-to-belt buckle like it was sewn around me.

I threw on the Puma MY clown shoes so I was'nt the umpteenth person in white shoes but its unnecessary, this jacket makes a great statement by itself without any distraction. I also have a brown lamb A2 in the works from a last-minute cutoff day impulse. All the more excited for the A2 after putting this on, VLSI you must feel like a kid on christmas.

Thanks very much to Drew, Charly and Dan.

I originally wanted the Bball to be soft and light but that didn't exactly happen with the first gen, it turned out to be something else. We're talking like a millimeter or a fraction of a millimeter here....

There's a good place for what I want to make, but it's big project for me and will take time and maybe some help.

Sick dude

Drew used d3o armor in the horsehide moto. d3o is slimmer and more expensive than conventional armor. I tried so hard to get some for a vegetable tanned armored jacket, but unless you're a partner you can't buy the pieces individually... the best I was able to come up with was buying a Furygan jacket and cutting it apart.

The closest thing to modern stylish moto gear is Dethkillers, which also uses d3o, but I can't find pics anywhere. Otherwise you're choosing between power ranger suit or superbaggy harley leather coated in skull graphics.

Drew, I know you said the horsehide jacket wouldn't be a "true" motorcycle jacket in the sense that you wouldn't be able to fall with it several times and keep wearing it, but the calf you use feels sturdier than the leather on my dainese jacket. If you added some armor I'm pretty sure you'd be there.

how much does the lamb break in? Just got my black lamb cwu, its amazing, but a little tight, partcularly in the waist, when zipped up. Does this go away after a bunch of wear? how much can I expect it to stretch and mold to my body, if at all?

I think something has changed since the first time I saw Drew mention this jacket (since I immediately looked and couldn't find the armor stocked anywhere).

A bunch of the usual motorcycle sources have the pieces available for sale for about the same price as Knox CE armor.

They seem to be selling it as replacements for Klim jackets/pants but don't seem to care about verifying if you actually own any Klim gear. I'm thinking about swapping out my elbow pads with it (not sure my jacket would fit right in the shoulders if I used slimmer armor up there).

I saw the Klim stuff too when I was searching, but that stuff is CE1, which is good enough for biking but not motorcycling. What you really want is the Xergo line, which I can't find anywhere.

What do you guys think about Hiprotec CE armor at 6mm?
Go for full CE2 safety. People seem to fall into two camps: ATGATT and "fuck it I'm lazy, I'll wear sneakers and jeans and a leather jacket". Well, I guess there are also squids, but they're not long for this world...

If I'm going for armored gear, I'm already buying into safety over fashion. I'm not gonna be like, "I'll sacrifice a little bit of style for safety, but only 6mm!"

Is shearling definitely off the table for the future?

breaking my heart here

Also drew I think you would have to reconsider your vendetta against double zips for a moto jacket, especially if the leather is tough. Can't imagine trying to ride an R6 leaning way forward with a mess of vegetable tanned leather bunching in front...
Eh? I think all motos come/came with double zips unless you specified silver hardware, which I think was just only available as a single zip.
going forward, single-zip only

I'm surprised there hasn't been another surge of shearling requests;
