I don't think a DR in FQHH would be a disaster. Take a look at eternaldrakes. It's by far my favorite TOJ.

 

No FQHH for the A-2...

 

Charly reccommended the olive green calf for a DR with silver hardware. Sounds awesome, but I'm not sure I have the balls for it.

Do you have any pictures of the jacket broken in?

I think the old size chart had a midsection 1.5 inches bigger than the waist, and the new size chart has a midsection .5 inches smaller than the waist. This suggests that they've changed where they are measuring. Maybe it used to be at the bottom of the jacket, and now it's right above the ribbing.

My waist is 33" and hip is 34.5"
My A2 is 20" at Mid and 18.5" at waist.
I believe it is too tight on the waist for zip up.
I think you should be fine with that waist. It might be on the fitted side than relaxed.

Can you post a fit? Those are all my measurements.

4 zip man, 2 zip can look like a wetsuit, especially on bigger sizes. Need that extra visual kei. I will try to post pics of mine when I get the chance.

Is that over your hip bones? Seems awfully wide.

i think it looks really awkward tho when the jacket is fitted to the waist, but the guy's legs and butt spills out aftewards kinda creating a

Yeah, don't go over your butt. Jackets don't go down that low. The hip bone is the place you're supposed to measure. Look at the website to see the exact spot.

 

Just saying, FQHH is very rigid (prior to break in), thick and heavy. You described it well, it's essentially armor with a utilitarian purpose. You see its application the most with A-2s (history) and Collared Motos.

 

DR, imo, just pairs better with lamb, fashion wise. Though this looks amazing:

Another thing is that you really have to wear it a lot to keep it comfortable. I hadn't used mine all winter and when it got warm enough to wear it, it felt almost as stiff as when I first got it. After a day it got better and now is pretty comfy.

Burgundy russet. Sorry, no pics (there are some in the gallery when it was almost new). All that has happened is that the edges have lost some color as they've gotten scratched. Shows up as lighter colored areas. Overall it has gotten more texture to it at the back and sleeves, kind of reminds of waves in sand.

Does anyone know what I could use to restore color to some spots? One shoulder has gotten pretty scratched from a bag's strap and could look a bit better.

Love the shit out of my bomber. Gonna have to shelve it until fall but I'm fine with that. Fits like a dream.

Anyone know what animal this fur collar came from? It's really nice

All this fit talk has me nervous, though i provided tons of info (body + jacket measurements, pics, etc) and did some minor revisions when i measured something wrong, so I'm sure it will be fine when I try it on next week.
