The new official TOJ thread, 2011 - Page 1302

If this has been covered, sorry for asking again, the thread is just really long and I might have missed it in skimming.

Do you guys have any idea of what styles of jackets will "survive" the reboot? Are the classic or bestsellers (moto, MDR and DR, bomber, TOJ 1) probably going to return in some form? Is it a really big change, or is it mostly just removing MTM jackets and making pretty similar styles?

Asking because I love your jackets and have wanted a few for some time, but there's no way I'm going to be able to get the cash together before the cutoff date for what I want. Either way I can't wait to see what you guys come up with after the hiatus, the jackets are always so killer icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Also got a hard time deciding between brown lamb and goat. Already have a lamb jacket so want to try goat but prefer the lighther brown color of the lamb.

Why would you soak a leather jacket? Is it just to get the sheen off?

Does everyone do this?

also another reason why SOME people should be given MTO option lol. VERY FEW PEOPLE. like only those who are drew-approved.

If you're built and not slim, single-breasted jackets like Motos tend to serve better. The reason is as explained; DR's have the extra material showing when opened; that expanse gets perceived visually as more width than is actually there. It's a tougher look to master. nineohtoo actually traded a CWU for a DR and posted a pic recently where he demonstrated a great open DR fit. Getting the lower quarters to open a bit is a good look.

What do you think about this build - 42 chest, 36-37 waist, 6'1

Want to go for the brown goat 4-zip MDR, but could go 3 zip MDR or even the A2 if it would fit my build better.

Here I am thinking about selling my DR so I have extra funds when I move next month, and now I've got Drew referencing my photo as a good fit. But really, it doesn't always wear that way since the leather isn't stiff and looks just like other ones, rather boxy. I think I prefer my A2 or even my original TOJ1 in terms of fit. Though I'm really anxious to see how the T1 turned out.

That was originally a nice contrast between lamb and lamb suede, but the goat is harder and the matchup would be less congruent. The A2 jacket itself in goat would be phenomenal though, with that fur collar.

If I knew, at the time I was ordering my A-2 Bomber, that I'd also be getting the Lamb DR in the near future, I would've done the Black Goat with Fur Collar. I love my A-2 Lamb like crazy, but the goat just sounds badass with that texture.

I think I have narrowed down my choice to an MDR with color preference in the following order.
1. Medium Gray
2. Black Lamb
3. Dark Brown Goat (if only because I like the idea of goat that might break in to something really cool).

The only reason for the wavering between gray and brown is that while I think the gray would be more versatile with my wardrobe, I fear it might be a little bit lighter in color in person than I would like and that it would end up getting dirty easily...while the classic black isn't going to have that issue.

Not fully decided on 3zip vs 4zip MDR. As an already bigger dude, I am not sure that I want the horizontal pocket lines (but it may also be an issue of only seeing photoshop mockups of the 4zip and tons of great pics of the real 3zip)

Yes, it's medium grey.

Okay, so fox fur for DRs is out - right?

Disappointed if so, would have worked really nicely with the wardrobe I'm building.

Ya, I asked the same question a few pages back, and Drew was like 'yo brah, u so 2000 and late'.

That shit is completely idolized where I'm from.

Don't suppose there are any other fur snap ons that'd fit a 2010 DR?

Or is anyone selling?
