The new official TOJ thread, 2011 - Page 1275

Thanks for the feedback. FWIW, I actually kinda like the "wall of leather" look...it feels more apocalyptic and modern and less retro and biker-ish. And the asymmetrical zip on these jackets is one of my favorite features. But, as I said, I appreciate the feedback and I definitely think I could take an inch or more off of the sleeves next time.

Here you go snowman...I exaggerated the cuff flare a bit to better illustrate it. I think it's an issue of the sleeves being too long, thereby giving it a natural tendency to bunch, combined with nothing to restrain the bunch...resulting in a flare. I think another snap half-way up the slit will help draw it all in, although a zip would be ideal (but then we're fighting against the whole ethos of the jacket).

zippers should have never been removed from the cuffs. you should unsnap them at least

Yeah but then it feels all floppy. Would drive me crazy.

Overall the jacket looks good, but the extra sleeve length combined with the lack of zips makes the sleeves look poorly finished.

Medium gray lamb is available? For some reason, I thought all gray leathers were unavailable for the last run.

Nah, that was just an oversight. They weren't listed, but that was corrected a few posts later. The greys are available.

It was a very snug fit when I got it, and I don't think the jacket had stretched out elbows yet. But, for the past four months I've been wearing it almost daily, even in the rain. I've run with it on countless times, exercised, wrestled, climbed?, etc etc. I don't really hang it, so it sits on top of a shelf for a few hours at night while I sleep. I wear it to school, in lab, to Disneyland, the zoo, I wear it while I literally roll around at the park, and at the beach, etc.
So it's probably the result of being a really nice, tight fit, and being worn to hell with little rest. Lamb definitely isn't as gentle as some people might worry that it is, but it is VERY light. After I received this 2010dr, I was set on ordering calf or horse if I ever bought another moto/rider.
Does your ucdr have this sort of wrinkle/stretch mark thing going on with it?

wtf? i guess i should stop being such a pussy and start wearing mine 24/7 too.

also drew/charly can you guys let me know if u still have red leather? i sent an email and have asked in this thread few times already.

Pretty sure it's gone - it wasn't on the latest list of available colours, and it was incredibly low in stock when I ordered mine 10 weeks ago.

I should be posting up pictures when it arrives later today!

Oh hellz yeah.

Sucks if he's out though. Have always had a red leather on the back burner and now, since Drew's finally ending MTM it makes it sort of a yes/no, gotta know decision.

Post a lot of pics. There's a serious lack of red leather pics in this thread.

Don't count on it. Probably should just place your order now.

Get bottle green. It's the next best "loud" color that I know of that's available.

Hey guys, I'm looking to get a 2010 DR in black, but am having trouble deciding on lamb or calf

I know drew has mentioned several times in the past that the first leather should be lamb, I've already got a TOJ1 2011 with black lamb, so I know how supple and luxe it is

My only concern about lamb is that I feel it is too fragile, I will tend to baby it, in fear of it getting ripped apart

What I am after though is something that is tough as nails and that will age beautifully reminiscent of the old vintage biker jackets

So is calf my best bet? Would love to know your opinions and experiences
