To those who have the blacked out zippers on their jackets. I am curious if anyone has had trouble with the main front zipper engaging? Because I seem to find my self having trouble getting it to zip up sometimes. I know it's nothing wrong with the make of the jacket. Im wondering if its just the black paint or whatever that is on the hardware?

Brand new? It takes some working it in then becomes really smooth.
If it's a two pull zip, you need to make sure the pulls are all the way down before you can attach the other side and pull up. Fortunately, the type of zips TOJ uses requires you to do this, I've had soft shells and fleeces that use smaller YKK zips that will let you pull up before the two pulls reach the end and it results with skipped teeth?(not sure that's exactly what they're called) and having to use a lot of force to take it off later.
Yea its a new one. Yea I noticed you had to have both down all the way but it still takes a few try's. I just looked closely and the black is rubbing off from where its making contact so it will probably wear its self in as mentioned above.
my girlfriend just got her TOJ1 - she loves it, and it looks awesome. in fact, almost makes me wish I'd gone grey/white for mine instead of blacked out.
Thinking of getting a 2010 DR just wondering what you guys think in terms of either calf or lamb I was thinking of maybe an off color maybe a brown or something I don't really wear blacks. But I know there are people that have jackets and lamb and I'm wondering if there's a preference. Seems like lamb is more suited as RTW and Calf is more well rounded and has more character once worn.

I have a lamb bomber and a dark royal mdr in calf. The bomber feels light and casual, whereas the mdr feels heavy, stiffer, and really fucking boss. It is a jacket with a pretty loud statement. Like one that makes you look like a player with commitment issues (I was accused of this by a Chinese girl last weekend while wearing said jacket). Definitely, the style is well suited for the calf which is shinier and more ostentatious.
Yeah I really want to get one, I've always really liked the design but wasn't really what to get. The design is a little bit aggressive and loud but I think with the right color it can work for anyone and for others it's work better. I'm leaning more toward lamb the reason why I brought up the question. Theres a lot of jackets out there with lamb but I would say its harder nowadays to find a good jacket with good quality calf than jackets with lamb since its being used so much.
It's all good as long as I can have some negative offset Works and bags on that bad boy.
yeah that's not how it works man, think 3-year old Toyota Siena in white over grey cloth interior, with only 1 of the 4 original hubcaps remaining. It will have a bunch of scuffs all over it, not necessarily dents.
