you are confirmed, read your email.

Good to go. Next several weeks will be spent thinking about former Marine Bomber guy hunched over the black lambskin of my CWU-45, beads of perspiration forming on his brow as he carefully toils over perfect, saran wrapped seams lol.

Drew: What happens if one was to wear a calf leather in the rain? Would there be water spot marks upon drying? After seeing Dbear's pictures, I'm tempted to wear my DR 2010 in the rain on purpose and start dancing like Usher.

In regards to the baseball jacket, I think a lot of people were waiting for the rebirth of the varsity jacket. I wasn't going to get one until I saw pictures of a user with his beige bball jacket. I feel like the baseball jacket is the older brother of the varsity.

the bball jacket pretty much slays the varsity imo, not sure why the toj1 blew up while the bball jacket remained nearly untouched

Alright. Some results from soaking my lamb mDR.

First of all, never owned a leather jacket before TOJ, but I was under the impression that water and leather didn't mix well--let alone what would happen if you actually dunked a leather jacket into a tub of hot water. Well, that's exactly what I did. The first picture is pre-soak, second is post-soak. Both taken in the same room, but the same lighting with the same camera.

+ Filled bath tub with hot water
+ Threw the jacket in there for about 7 minutes, tried to submerge it, but it basically floats
+ Water turned light black
+ Your hands get mildly stained if you play with it too much
+ Hung to dry outside until it stopped dripping (a few hours)
+ Took about 3 days until it was fully dried
+ Still soft, very soft...just not like the hot buttery softness out of the tote
+ Very minor shrinkage. Maybe around 2-3% total.
+ Shoulders maybe lost 0.5" at most, same with chest. This is at most.
+ Length and sleeves measured to be about the same, can't say for 100% sure. 0.5" is very easy to mis-measure.
+ Jacket feels a little, ever so tighter overall--intended.
+ Basically, the shine sorta went away.
+ Would do it again. But I do miss the feel of a brand new buttery soft TOJ lamb...
+ Again, very impressed with leather quality. But the caveat is that I'm a leather noob

Wow. This has to be a record. Your whole turnaround took less than a week?!! My shortest wait time was for my first bomber at 3 weeks.

in that picture they are actually tucked underneath, hence no visible hem stitching.

I did, however, eventually get them hemmed to just about where you see them. I myself also prefer little-to-no stacking for all my pants and jeans.

Looking back on the various pieces on toj-gallery.com (I guess there's probably over 2 or 3,000 pics in there by now? willy confirm?) it is kind of weird to see which pieces went off well, and which ones did not. The number of pics in the gallery isn't exactly the best indicator, since there are people who will order pieces and just never post a fit pic, but in general the proportions in the gallery are kinda similar to the sales figures. I think overall, about 80% of the unsung hero TOJ pieces were maligned, and 20% were deservedly unpopular. That 80% includes ones like the QDR (about half of the ones ordered were posted in fit pics) and the backpack (which nobody styled well, it should've been worn floppy and undulated) as well as some of the coats (namely fishtail) etc. It changes per year, but definitely a weird emphasis on the varsity that is half understandable, but on the other side of the very see-through fence, the other stuff is the works.

Yeah that sounds about right, a little over 3k in pics. Some of it is also from items that were constantly passed around in the SF B/S & supermarket also. Do think quite a few pieces were underrated and that it was because people couldn't see the potential in how awesome some of them could look or even imagine themselves wearing, which is surprising because you would think if anyone were to be able to picture themselves implementing certain pieces into their wardrobe, it would be dudes on fashion messageboards, lol. I still remember when the first iteration of the leathers dropped; the DR and the Moto were getting all the love, then after a few nice fit pics of the A2 came along, dudes finally saw the light, and now all the A2s that have released since then are no brainers.
holy **** you guys, the baseball jacket is such hot sex you wouldn't believe. nevar taking it off

How many baseball jackets actually sold? There are literally a handful of photos in the gallery, and it seriously might be nicer than my double rider. Or, I don't know. As nice. Something. At least I can have a jocks and greasers showdown with myself.

"Grown man jock style. Of course there was another round of great varsity jackets (that mustard yellow Shipley & Halmos one? Yes.), but it looks like baseball jackets could end up at the top of the heap this spring" -Jonathan Evans

How warm are the winter varsities? I live in Finland and I expect atleast -25 degrees celsius, so if I decide to buy a toj winter varsity, will it keep me warm?
