The new official TOJ thread, 2011 - Page 12

I already know what my 3rd ToJ piece will be. I'm tempted to pull the trigger now, but I will make myself wait until I get the 2nd piece first, haha. I have no self control lately when it comes to purchases related to clothing.

I find myself looking at the wrinkles made by the leather jacket as my arms are bent...reminds me of the waves formed from shell cordovan.

My dog ate the front corner of my Margiela, the zipper is now broke, and the lining is disentegrating completely, but I wear it like a champ, they look better that way.

If you're a perfectionist, we can repair it, but it would be a long process since we normally don't work in reverse, and it'd cost about a bill for the teardown+new piece of leather, but it's up to individual taste.
I'll just see if I can find a repair place around here. If not, it's not that big of a deal. It's still more than wearable. Thanks, Drew.

Sadly, they're discontinued. I regret not buying one when they were around.

yeah, those gore tex Harringtons are long gone. We're just making what we've got on the first page for now, and then I'm gonna add some new stuff in a bit. For now, we're just focusing on clearing orders; a whole bunch of tracking numbers went to people today, and parkas are in production right now.

^^^ Mine is on its way (shipped exactly 3 weeks from payment date, holy crap fast), as are probably many others considering the fatty shipment that just got sent out. There's very few pics of any blacked out DRs, and they're only of the older model, so I'll try to get some decent pics up to spread the ToJ love if no one else does.

About five weeks ago I emailed Charly about a blacked out DR in lambskin. He recommended a shortened 49 with larger sleeves. Measurements: shoulders, front\t18.0" shoulders, back\t17.5" chest (pit-to-pit)\t22.0" midsection\t 19.6" waist\t 20.0" body length, front\t21.5" body length, back\t24.0" sleeve length, from shoulder\t24.4" sleeve width @ pit\t7.7" sleeve width @ elbow\t6.7" sleeve width @ cuff\t5.6" For reference, I'm 5'9" and approx. 180-185 lbs. First off, for people who haven't bought from ToJ before, believe the hype. I emailed Charly the Sizing Wizard once about fit, and went with what he recommended. I was afraid my expectations were too high, but the minute I put the jacket on, I found that the fit was exactly what I wanted and was surprised that the leather was actually nicer than what I had imagined. The lambskin is very soft and supple, and the hardware is nice and sturdy. When you wear it out, prepare to be stared at by almost everyone. People will touch you, often more than necessary. Synthese said that this is "that guy's" jacket. What I found was this: the jacket itself is almost enough to make you "that guy." This jacket is amazing.
