I still haven't got it wet yet, but i'm inching to get water on it to see how it will react, guess i'll just wait for a rainy day...

I've been thinking about all the tartans available for the suede Harrington lining - we've got some options available regarding that right? Although, baseball jacket's striped oxford cloth looks pretty nice too.

I'd email and ask but I don't like doing that unless I plan on buying immediately.

I've been such a fiend for suede these days.

Oh, I'm sure the longer the wait the sweeter it'll be when I receive that email.

things are changing very soon - going to Seoul on Monday, line will reformed within a few weeks. Once again I'll pare down the available choices and combinations based on availability as well as to avoid the questions, and let things be. Custom orders and options have never turned out well for anybody, as far as I can see.

Different conditions;
a) would not have made it unless the conditions were right - all the materials had to be chosen by me, in person, the process was overseen by me - this is how we ensure quality
b) the design was extensively worked out as a mockup, with a photoshop, reasonable discussion (though the email thread got too long with sizing discussion and I missed the part where he wanted snake under the collar - I didn't get a photoshop of it and it might've gotten lost in the huge email thread, so that ended up not happening)
c) the design wasn't any different from the MDR apart from the added coin pocket - it's far easier to add a coin pocket than it is to try and reshape something. One is adding a simple pentagon pattern and a standard pocket, the other is drawing a new pattern.

Most people, when asking for customs, are always looking to make some sort of change to the design - we're pretty open to making different colors, but people who ask for redesigned things to their liking either don't understand the nature of asking for a one-off thing - it's a one-shot deal whereas what we make as standard has the benefit of being R+D'ed before we even release it, and then of course we make enough subsequent pieces of each design that the components and designs are proven. There's a reason we make things a certain way, with particular materials.

Also, the changes people ask for are mostly inconsequential. In the worst case scenario, the piece will end up looking funky and strange. In the less that worst case, it'll still waste time and take too long to make, because there'll be some amount of changes in the preparation stage.

We make small changes for people who have bought many things from us - it's partly because they're in the circle as it were, but also because I feel one comes to a better understanding of what we make and what materials we have, and the way we use them once one has a number of different pieces from us. You wouldn't walk into a restaurant for the first time ever and ask them to change a dish based on a picture, right? You try it the way they make it, or you just order something else. Maybe if you become a regular and have tried the same dish many times, then you reach a point of understanding how the dish should fit your tastes and you wouldn't be off base for asking them to adjust the seasoning or whatnot - but we get people who are buying their first or second piece from us who want extensive changes to the existing design - and I don't like that, I aim to make the best things I know how via people who have as much experience making clothes that we can find, and I look upon most of the custom propositions as being less than good ideas.
