This is what happens though with a V-cut jacket on an )( shaped torso. IMO it isn't flattering. Better to show off the width of the shoulders an maintain a leaner silhouette through a suppressed waist I think - it's certainly part of what helps my altered Moto attract a lot of comments (ableit worn open).

stop, not this again

well nothing looks flattering when you got monster hips and thighs...

Ok, many, many apologies - I didn't mean to open this whole can of worms again.

I thought Drew said something about making more drop-friendly jackets, although I now think I might've just mis-read an earlier post. I agree that the existing models don't look as good with a ton of waist suppression. I figured if there was something in the works that did have a little extra waist suppression, Drew would make it work out so it didn't give a )( effect, and if that was the case, I wanted to see what it was.

So...let's pretend I never said anything and get back to talking about:

- sample sales
- ToJ denim
- t-shirts
- new S/S 12 items
- fit pics
- &c.

edit:

To get the ball rolling, here are my last couple of fits:

There's a lot of color variation in the medium grey. Definitely some earth tons to it, and I've noticed that parts of it are getting lighter while other parts are getting darker as it wears in.

To be fair, ToJ is made-to-measure clothing. Which is a BIG drawcard for people with odd shapes and proportions. It's what brought me here, and I'm sure it's what brought a large number of others too. When a person can't find flattering jackets on clothing racks anywhere, then M2M is where they're going to look.

And unlike half the discussion in this thread - finding sizing/fit solutions that work for people with more awkward shapes, is very much a relevant and appropriate point of discussion for this thread.

I think MTM has some sort of threshold. You are really that awkwardly shaped, maybe try bespoke then.

Grug, if you don't mind me saying, what would improve your fit is if you tightened up the shoulders (you want them to sit higher up on a rider), chest and pit measurements (higher arm holes).

That would inherently get rid of some excess material, since it's cut narrower and would achieve a more V look to accommodate your drop.   Also, tighten up the waist a little and wear it with the bottom zip a little unzipped when it's zipped up--that's why its there.

Thanks for the suggestions mate, the jacket is back with ToJ already but the alterations they're making will probably just be to the taper into and out of the waist.

All the bunching up is happening around the waistline (where the excess material is), so finger's crossed, with that excess removed, the jacket will look cleaner through the middle. At any rate, I'm intrigued to see how it turns out.
