Can anyone comment on the difference in temperature ranges for the peacoat with and without the quilted lining?

For those who are wondering about the squeakiness of the veg tan leather: I don't even notice it. I even my remember my lamb jacket being a little squeaky at first, I think. The VTG isn't noticeably loud, at least to me, and it definitely should NOT be a factor for anyone considering a purchase.

Indecision has kept me from ordering my first leather for several months now, so I'm looking for a little help so I can finally get something together.

I mainly wear jeans, tees, and button-downs. I'm leaning towards a collared moto, but not sure if I should go with black or brown. There was some discussion earlier--i think it was over the different shades of whiskey calf--about certain colors looking great or awful depending on complexion/hair. Not sure if that applies to black vs brown. If it does, I have light/fair skin with dark brown hair on my head (for now) and facial hair that grows in thick and black (perma shadow). I've seen many posts where people claim the moto just works better in black. Collared moto as well?

Another concern is the drop. I'm 5'9" with something like 43/32 chest/waist. I know there are physical limitations with the cutting of the pattern and have no desire for a super-fitted jacket, but do certain jackets have a tendency to look better on people with similar proportions?

Open to any suggestions. Thanks!

honestly you sound more suited for an A2 in brown or CWU-45 in black. personally if this will be your only jacket i'd choose color based on your footwear. eg. more brown boots = brown leather, etc.

no you can't get calf in those jackets, but trust me toj lamb is no slouch. just IMO but the limited calfs shouldn't be touched unless you have prior experience with a toj

Is it really almost a rule that wearing a brown jacket means wearing brown shoe/boots?

Get a brown lamb a2! This thing has ultimate versatility. It looks boss enough to wear to a club, and refined enough to wear to work. The shearling collar allows one to enjoy greater warmth on a windy day and can be taken off.

My idea was to get the bomber and then a minamlist or regular double rider to cover the subdued and the daring.

As someone with a similarly pronounced difference between chest/waist (45"/34"), who has had issues with the fit through the body of both ToJs I've ordered. I'd strongly suggest sacrificing a little room in the chest (Pit-to-Pit measurement) in order to get the body of the jacket tighter.

Use your relaxed chest measurement as the basis of your sizing, not your expanded chest measurement.

A general rule is to match the tones of the leather you're wearing. So brown belt and brown shoes. It's very difficult pulling off brown jacket and black shoes and the jacket has to be more of a taupe (greyish brown). A rich brown like the one TOJ used for its lamb will be best served with brown shoes rather than black. The only time that rule of thumb doesn't really apply is when the leather is so light it's obvious you're not matching anything, like the TOJ VTG or any leather in sand. Of course, you could avoid that problem altogether and just wear white sneakers most of the time, which go with either just fine.

You can wear white sneakers with it. But when it comes to dressier shoes and boots I think it would look off if you pair brown with black.

I'm trying to picture if it would work with black and white chucks.
