The new official TOJ thread, 2011 - Page 796

Those are the limitations of made-to-measure. You would get the same results if you had gone to Thick as Thieves and asked for extreme waist suppression. I have a 10 inch drop and went with a shortened size 48. TBH with your measurements and body shape a CWU-45/A-2 would have made more sense, something I've realized for the second leather order.

As I explained, and later realized to even myself after breaking it down step by step like that, I am pretty sure you wouldn't have even been able to zip the jacket up had it been sewn to your spec'd measurement set because of the 5" drop curve. It would've measured out right but as it wouldn't have laid down where it was supposed to, it'd have been effectively wasting space at the curved stitch, where there'd be no space to waste.

That altered moto looks terrible, and this is coming from a guy that likes things to fit pretty slim. It looks like a bodice, not a jacket. For sure your MDR has a bit too much fabric and there was clearly a communication breakdown here but if you request measurements that are just not possible to fulfill then the outcome is going to be odd. My jacket fits quite slim but there's still a decent amount of excess fabric to allow for things like ... moving and breathing.

That said, IMO those sleeves look huge from the side.

I have a Julius and an Undercover leather in my closet somewhere buried, both fit me awesome too, but neither are my style. Simple is always better.

I know Drew has said explicitly that it'll never happen, but it doesn't hurt to dream...

I think the lighting accentuates/overemphasizes the creases on the second picture though, not to mention that the picture was probably shot right after the jacket was taken out of the box.

Yep. Although this was taken after like a month of wear.

The royal blue calf might be gone by then. I think the red calf is now sold out, and we didn't even sell a single one - somebody else came in and bought all of it, as I predicted would happen.

I probably missed it somewhere, but why exactly wouldn't Drew do a 5-zip??

It would really be an awesome TOJ piece icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif.

Maybe because it's a Margiela design??

^ aren't all these jackets just versions of existing jackets? like Julius has a 5-zip too.

I'm sure Drew can say it better, but the last time he explained it, it was something a long the lines that the 5 zip holds a special place in his heart and if he would to make one, it would be like whoring out his wife to us or something like that lol. (dont' quote me on that)
