Well I thought that, but I emailed Drew telling him my chest was 41", and he said to go with a 48 in the TOJ1.

Sorry Drew if I don't have my facts straight, I will delete this post if that is the case.

fistbump.gif this is exactly spot on, and follows some basic logic too - can't expect a jacket with the same size (and no, that 2 tenths of an inch does not make a difference) as your skin measurement to fit over your body, right? They don't make those babushka dolls all the same size in order to fit over each other, right?

TOJ1's and Coats are the only ones that are not customizable in all dimensions (Baseball jacket was also not full MTM, but it's pretty much discontinued now) - the amount of work required to change the fit of something in such a minor way to pieces does not make enough of a case for something like a varsity jacket. I still don't get why people expect to, or even want to wear a varsity jacket with a precision fit, it has been one of the reasons why I always regret making varsities...... ffffuuuu.gif

lol. yeah but that really goes to show how far a bit of design planning goes too - with natural leather it's nice that it ages and all, but once it's aged in with a lot of these amekaji denim nerd products, the final product looks weird because the design is intentionally dorky, those shoes, all the amateur cardholders and bags, the redmoons, the huge belts, etc... the design doesn't have to be dorky for the leather to age though, that is a different variable, and that is why the TOJ VTG series came to be devil.gif

fwiw i'm going out to Shimokitazawa tomorrow to go a pair of jeans, all my APCs are torn up at the back belt loops and my ass has been showing all over Tokyo. redface.gif

Just an update on the Uncontrol DR since I didn't get the chance to do a full review on it: love it, everyone else loves it too. Popped collar constantly, sort of sad the snakeskin isn't on the back of the collar because of this. Sizing seems perfect but maybe too big through the bicep and elbow, but I'm gonna let the leather settle before making any decisions about that. Got skinny arms tho.

Thanks for the reminder. I actually gained the 1" around the chest very very recently, within the last one or two months when I ordered the TOJ1.

They cram a surprisingly good selection into a relatively tiny space (particularly compared to Americaya in Ueno).
