On the wrist today, my loyal weekend beater, going on almost ten years now, never serviced, never needed repair:

1968 Rolex Oyster. My dad escaped the Vietnam War, Pol Pot's Cambodia, and the Iranian Revolution (in that order) with this on. He gave it to me for my 30th birthday.

The way Rolex should be done: tough, non-blingy, classic, conservative...with history.

Couldn't get my camera to take a good pic over the glare, but here's a stock photo.

Bulova BVA 510 series. Self winding automatic mechanical motion. Skeleton face, transparent caseback. Pretty sweepy second hand.

Admittedly a lot of peoples first impression seeing it in pictures is "kind of big" and "really busy" but its much more subdued when its actually on your wrist. Plus I rock this semi casual, from jeans and T-shirts to a night out at the club. Kinda of bold and my style. I wouldn't try to pair this with a suit or take it to the office though.

When I decide to step up, I do have my eye on a nice bold sportier patterned Omega Speedmaster. Oh man, I am not willing to drop the cash required at this point in my life but the Tag Grand Carrera auto chornograph is soooooo sick.

This is great. How much does an Omega like this run, generally?
