This was a gift from my boss. I kept it for a few months before I just sold it. It is pretty solid. Made in USA. You can't beat the quality. If I needed a sterling silver money clip I would buy a...

Hickey freeman suits - Page 7
The jacket is very slim, which will appeal to many here but doesn't play to my boxy physique. The fabric, however, was the deciding point. Very coarse, worse than the CK suits I used to have when I was in high school. My guess is that these are made specifically for LC, not for NM. I was in Bloomingdale's earlier this week, and the cloth was completely different.
However, the construction does appear to be full-canvas. It's a weird suit, in my opinion. It's like the HF folk did the best they could, but NM gave them crap to start with.
It's also a drop 6, not a drop 7 like many HF suits.
In sum, I don't think these get the SF seal of approval. It's not the worst you could do for $300, but it's not the best you can get. Much more happy with my Benjamin and BB suits I've purchased this year, which were at a higher pricepoint but definitely had better value.

Just got the HF suit in the mail from LC. Put on the jacket, and it went right back in the box for a return.

Why would they make a slim suit and then decrease the drop? =/
Glad I decided against - the stuff I saw in store was poor.

I bought one of these, too. The tag on mine says it is the "Milburn" line, which is the same line Bloomingdale's carries. I think it's a line made especially for department stores. LC verified to me (as they have for others) that the suit is full-canvas. The fabric is a bit coarse and not as good as the HF milburn suits at Bloomingdale's but the price is also a lot lower.

Nordstrom Rack always has these HF Milburn line suits available for $500. Way too often for me to believe that it is anything but a HF suit made for Norstrom Rack. That and the fact that the real HF suits from Norstrom are always marked with a tag announcing this fact.
I see that the hickey website lists a C collection that looks like it's more fashion forward and geared toward a younger man (thinner, higher armholes, etc). Do they make their regular OTR suits in this cut? None are listed on their website at present. Am I likely to have a hard time finding said C collection suit at the kind of discount this thread suggests is ordinarily attainable? (e.g. ~400)
It's a plus that HF has a 39 (which fits pretty much true to my chest) as I usually opt for a 40 as a 38 will be too tight. But the ones I've tried on at NMLC look too old on me, so canvassed or not it wasn't going to work.
Do they have a slimmer line a perhaps a slightly slimmer lapel, etc.?

Look for the Barret model.
