Such an awesome fucking actor. From Romeo + Juliet to The Omen, he always stole the show. RIP.

I read about this earlier. The article said he'd had cancer for a long time; I had no idea.

Yah, sad.

His performance as the brutal father in DISTANT VOICES, STILL LIVES was gigantic.

It took me years to separate actor from role.

Even earlier, his English TV appearances. Superb.

Oily Rag in Minder.

Oh, that sucks. Sorry to hear it.

Read it in the paper today, a damn shame. He was always good and just seemed to pop up in movies unexpectedly; it was always a welcome addition to the movie. Realized just a few months ago he was in Inception too; I didn't recognize him at firs. He always had the ability to blend in seamlessly with the movie.

He does look like he is ill in the above photo.

He was only 64 which is young to some of us. He was an excellent actor of course and a few years ago, Steven Spielberg called him the finest actor in the world. Quite a compliment.

He's looked like that for the past 20 years.

He was pretty wicked in "˜Distant Voices, Still Lives'. I didn't particularly care for the film, but it was a fine performance nevertheless.
