Good horseracing books?

Looking more for a book which can help the reader develop a feel for the game rather than a betting system, sort of like those written by a veteran trader about personal experience. How quantitatively intense doesn't matter.

Also which clubs? I'm mostly looking to play online? Or maybe place bets over the phone.

Any good software?

You want a book about horseracing from the bettor's viewpoint?

Wait for my book to come out, right after I publish "Flipping Coins: A 50-Year Odyssey".

Let me know what you find out. I love attending the track in person. Off Track Betting isn't that bad either. Sadly, my very best bets were when I was really green to it all. I'd look at the Racing Forum with a "beginner's mind", make a few choices (mostly WPS and Exactas) and then plop down my dollars. B

Have you read anything from Beyer, Free or Davidowitz? All of these guys are American and focus primarily on dirt racing. They do discuss turf racing a bit, but their books are clearly intended for a North American audience.
