Favorite fast food though... probably Pastrami Dip, Chili Cheese Fries, and Orange Bang from The Hat!

I think you're right, but if people get to count Phillipe's, Roscoe's, and Papa Christo's, the boundaries have stretched beyond recognition (at least as I recognize the term "fast food") anyway . . .

I suppose a fish sandwich fries and concrete strawberry milkshake from Culvers would be second best

You're right, we need some parameters.

I guess one prerequisite for fast food is that you order standing at a counter, which would exclude Roscoe's, but include Phillipe's.

If you have a drive-through you should automatically qualify - kind of like getting 3,000 hits or 300 wins.

I wouldnt call Phillippe's "fast food"...you have to tip, which shouldnt be in any conversation about fast food. and they serve alcohol, fast food should be strictly soda and tea. also I think there needs to be multiple locations for fast food status.

I agree with the multiple locations. My only quibble on the alcohol thing is that in my own subjective thinking Chipotle is definitely fast food, and they serve booze.

I think anywhere that it would be unusual to take food for eating at home shouldn't be considered fast food. I would say that Wahoo's is not fast food, while The Hat is.

very good point on the tipping. i can live with the no alcohol rule too, if we are talking American fast food. i am not sure about the multiple locations requirement. that would rule out Pinks, the Sunset Grill, and the like, which all qualify in my book.

Chipotle serves booze? There is one near my office, but I never go there. I may have to rethink that.

Jesus I'd kill for some Hat pastrami right about now...and Orange Bang? damn. Back earlier when I was talking about Papa Christo's I didn't mean to refer to it as fastfood, rather, I was mentioning Greek food that was far superior to Daphne's. My idea of fastfood is anything in a hut/shack/stand w/ or w/o drive-thru & no tipping since you're ordering from a counter. And if it serves booze, bonus points. And if they serve you booze through the drive-thru, I'd like the name and which city it's located in so I can move there now. I never understood the "need" to top @ Philippe's. Yes, they make the sandwiches but I don't tip the cooks for making my eggs or french toast. Just seems like a "tradition" that became an odd staple. Why did you have to bring up the Hat?

The one near me - and I assume it's not unique in this - serves margaritas (pre-mixed, but not bad considering) and several kinds of beer.
