Definitely. It was the Circle Jerks co-headline show.

Just to add something new, there's a small (I think they're small, anyway) chain of Greek fast food places called Dapne's (one in Westwood and one in Culver City) that I know about that's excellent, too.

I take it you're a West LA guy but if you're ever on the 10 near downtown, you should stop @ Papa Christo's if you haven't already. Hell, anyone should if they haven't already. It's on the corner of Pico and Normandie with the kind of food of which legends are made. It's got a great little market built in to it and the owner, Papa, looks like a greek Super Mario. I did lunch there every fri after high school for a reason.

Papa Christo's rocks. I just don't think of them as fast good.

How we start with pickles, cheese, and chili on top of a prefab tamale, and get to fried shrimp between two yakionigiri, is a mildly interesting exercise in food anthropology.

Oh, now I feel superannuated. I fear you've made a cultural reference that betrays my impending middle age.

Could be. I've only been to the one on Gower and the one on Pico. This was first pic I found online, however.

I'm guessing you mean Philippe's but considering the long-ass lines I'm not sure I'd think of it as fastfood. Doesn't change the fact that it's delicious as hell.

You could say the same thing about Pink's.

Could this be the ultimate ideal to which all other fast food is but a shadow on the cave wall?
