achieving this hair, and texture ?

i've been looking to change my hair style, and i came across this guy, who has , i think, really cool hair. i know he uses aveda hair potion , which is a white powder ? but i dont understand how the texture and layers are done when styling . any ideas ?Attachment 57083

You need a lot of hair to start with, blond highlights (otherwise the effect won't be as noticeable), mousse, dried upside down, and so much superhold hairspray that you need city code permits to leave the house. This guy must spend every 15 minutes re-primping to keep it like that. No question he's got a mini bottle of hair spray that he keeps on him. You can do it, but your hair will become a chore in your life.
